Yeah Phils!!!

Game 1 Summary
Utley doubled to drive in 2, along with a Victorino walk to give the Phils a 3-0 lead with Hamels pitching. Hamels had a perfect game through almost 5, Corey Hart broke up the no-no with a bloop single 4.2 innings in for Hamels. Hamels went 8 innings, struck out 9, gave up only 2 hits and no walks while Gallardo for the Brew Crew went only 4. Milwaukee made it interesting in the 9th off of Brad Lidge. Lidge struck out Mike Cameron first, R. Durham singled to center, followed by a Braun double & an Utley error to score Durham. 3-1. Lidge struck out Prince Fielder on a great AB on a high fastball, 2 outs, Hardy walked then Cory Hart struck out swinging. Final- Milwaukee 1- Philadelphia 3

YEAH PHILS! There ya go Sol lol...

Phils up in the Series 1-0...Thoughts, Predictions, Surprises etc..Post here

I pretty much had a heart attack in the bottom of the 9th, Hamels had 101 pitches so I thought he could go in the 9th but Lidge came in and barely converted the save.

Game 2 Summary
With the wind heavily blowing in Citizens Bank Park, the Phillies got on Milwaukee ace CC Sabathia early, making him throw 98 pitches in only 3.2 innings of work. Brett Myers drew a critical walk for the Phillies, making Sabathia throw 9/10 pitches vs. the Pitcher. Werth led off the bottom of the 2nd with a double, then Feliz brought him in with a double himself. Victorino later in the inning would homer to deep left for a Grand Slam, bringing in Myers, Feliz and Rollins. 5-1 Phillies. Milwaukee would add a run late in the game, with a Craig Counsell ground out to second, J.J. Hardy would score- 5-2 Phillies.

Here are the lines for both starting pitches, shocking!

C. Sabathia (L, 0-1) 3.2 6 Hits 5 runs 5 ER 4 Walks 5 Strikeouts 1 Homerun 12.27 ERA 98 Pitches Thrown
Brett Myers (W, 1-0) 7.0 2 Hits 2 Runs 2 ER 3 Walks 4 Strikeouts 0 HRs 2.57 ERA 94 pitches

The bullpen for the Phils was strong, Madsen came in for 2 batters, then J.C. Romero came in to get Prince Fielder to ground out. Lidge was much better in the 9th, only throwing 12 pitches, compared to 35 pitches thrown yesterday's game

Final Score- Milwaukee 2- Phillies 5 Phillies lead the series 2-0, going back to Milwaukee.

First of all, I never said oh it's a wrap, like "we'll easily win the playoff matchup" when it's not even over yet, even I know that. sports fan inexperience? LOL. Just because you are older then me, doesn't automatically mean I know less & people like you that are older know more about sports, not true. Second, aren't THE METS (AND yankees, both NY teams SUCK) out of the playoffs?   If you're going to try and ruin my fun, even when we lose, I'm enjoying being in the playoffs period, then find something better to do. Yes it can be tied going back to Milwaukee. But I also have a couple other points in how the Phils can make it 2-0. Usually if we score no runs one game, the next game we score a lot. Myers competitive nature and us being relaxed after getting Game 1 over with are all parts of it. Go Phils!! Btw, LAD 6- Cubs 2- DAMN!!!

No it isn't. That's why a closer comes in 1-3 runs up, to essentially SAVE the game and move on, because the score is so close. This game is only a run difference/a run away from being a save situation. It is close and it happens before. While it doesn't happen every game, it's not rare.

I sort of agree. Tomorrow's game is critical. Then again, Milwaukee is killing C.C.'s arm so I WOULD NOT be surprised if we tag him for 5/6 runs, and off the bat. They are wearing him out, with so many of these starts on short rest, and throwing 110-120 pitches per start in that span. It's crazy. And he doesn't pitch again in the series, if it goes that far, until Game 5 in Philly. Milwaukee has such an unbalanced rotation. Dave Bush for Milwaukee pitches his first game of the series Game 4. I think the Phils are goin with a 3 man rotation- Hamels, Myers, Moyer...then Hamels vs. Bush & Myers again vs. Sabathia, both games if necessary. We'll see, it'll be a great series and great to watch.
Btw, score update: Russell Martin just homered for the Dodgers in the top of the 9th, 7-2 LA.

Yes that is true. But, besides the Cubs who had a great year and just lost the first game, the Dodgers had a pathetic 84 wins and they were mostly under or around .500 for most of the year & the Brewers had Sabathia and still lost in September and barely won the Wild Card. Being 20 games over .500 I'd say is pretty good. I'm only focused on this round though, if we lose, 92 wins doesn't mean sh*t...

And the guy, btw, is 17-10 with a 2.70 era, 251 strikeouts..He would of had 20 wins I bet if his record wasn't 6-8 with a dismal Cleveland team that gave him no run support. I don't like these announcers at all. They're so anti Philly, it's bullsh*t and they are all Milwaukee, who is not a popular team so I am shocked. I mean popular, like usually announcers route for Yankees, Mets, Dodgers, Red Sox etc. Phils need to get it done though- Moyer didn't pitch great but didn't pitch bad at all, 3 runs and he doesn't go a lot of innings. 1 run in a closeout game is NOT gonna cut it. C'mon now, rally it up.

Congrats to the Phillies. Brewers bats quiet as a cemetary other than Game 3. Suppan continues giving up big innings as he has done he last month plus. But a good season for the Brewers, better than the last 26 years at least.

Wreckless you are right about the announcers, at least Brian Anderson who was the play-by-play announcer. He is the Brewers TV announcer on Fox Sports Wisconsin. After cheering for a team for 162 games I do not know how he could come across as neutral and do not know why they would put him on this series to announce. But not like the announcer has any effect on the game.

Act gay?     First off, I have a life. Just because I don't post in football threads all day, doesn't make me gay lol. I have a lot of posts recently but I go to school so I have a lot of downtime. Today I went out. Anyways, I don't care lol. I care about the Eagles, but I don't care about us in last place and you rubbing it in my face lol, even though they beat Cincy, Dallas BARELY did and Romo continues to show he is not up for consistency and the big games lol. But Dallas still win, so alright. At least the Phils are the championship series!!! While Mets are at home eating yogurt and sleeping    lol.

oh and let me address this lol. First off, I don't hop on any bandwagon. The teams that I am with and like, I stay and stick with, through thick and through thin. I was watching Phillies games at 8-10, in the mid to late 90s when we had that bum Francona as a manager lol, Schill's last years and the 60-70 wins, losing seasons. Now I have the utmost privilege of enjoying to the maximum the Phillies success this season- world series or not, and the roller coaster, crazy, fun ride of a 162 game grind. Last year they won the division as well, but we sucked against an incredibly hot Colorado Rockies team. No excuses- now we're back this year and hopefully we will win it all. One game at a time though. And nah, I don't think they will "fall off" and if they do, I will laugh at you for even TRYING to make a bad point about the Phils, when the Mets DIDN'T even make the fuc*ing playoffs lol, didily squat for them, when we still have a good chance to make it to the WS, and possibly even win it. :) Oh and, Go Phils!!! lol.

Thank you Sir (or Miss). I appreciate it. And congrats to your team, for AT LEAST making it to the playoffs this year. Think about it. Only 8 teams make the playoffs in general in baseball (8/30=.266) So only about 25, 26% will make it and survive to see October lights and more baseball. Kudos to your team for at least trying, sticking their hearts out and playing us not bad. Yes I don't like the announcers. Brian Anderson kept calling Utley, Ugly . Which is fine but inappropriate and unprofessional on his part. I didn't like Smoltz either. He's a guy I root for when he's pitching/on the mound and I think he's a nice guy, but not an announcer at all . Might wanna try another fall-back profession when your baseball career is over John lol. Seinatra, thanks again. Best of luck to your team next year, maybe they will bring Sveum back since he got them into the playoffs after Ned Yost was fired. Go Phils!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  thanks? lol. why though?

oh and, for some reason, I thought after today's game vs. Washington, we had a bye week, THEN we play San Fran. but I was wrong lol. Checked it earlier to confirm us playing them at their place next week.

um no i won't lol. i don't really gloat. i get mad after a loss, and after a win, i'm excited. the only time i was close to getting really really excited was after the 38-3 abomination over the rams week 1 lol. you just dislike me cause i'm a phils and eagles fan. we have had pretty good sports discussions & debates the last week or two. well i probably will be posting anyway lol so look for it and don't get your hopes up dude.

I just don't like FAKE fans, but you did save yourself by posting before the day ended because if u didn' return to the boards until tomorrow you would have really looked gay-lol So I will give you credit for showing up the same day unlike garfieldkool who disappeared after the skins lost to the giants in week 1

You look more pathetic every day with your posts.

Wreckless, littlebelle and myself live and die with our Philly, Buffalo, and Seattle teams, respectively.

Also, you only care about being negative than saying anything positive.

^ Thanks for the back up bro, I totally agree. I was just bringing up this 3 week thread, only for the purpose to show that the Phillies pulled through. Btw my friend, who do you roote for besides NO or Buffalo? Jw cause it would be reasonable to consider you like the Seahawks if somehow the Saints and Bills lose, since you are good friends with Ramona (not to change sports or nothin, just wonderin), and you started the thread about my Phils winning the WS. I don't have a problem with who you root for, in fact I kind of admire you for sticking with your teams, and even the teams of your friends on here.

I'm just tired of these story book sports fans. In my mind, somebody who sticks with their team through it all, is a real fan. Ironically, Solomon tried to call me a fake fan even though from what I've heard, he likes to play musical chairs w/ NFL teams.

He lost the fight, after he continously said the Phillies WOULDN'T win it, and they very much did win it lol.

Solomon, how's that championship ring? Oh right you wouldn't know about it, we do LOL. Mets haven't won one in 20 years.
