Oh god, let's talk about those scary ads that used to run in the 80's and 80's PFADFA! I think two of the creepiest ones was the one where a ballerina is dancing, and she suddenly falls down, and even though I saw this commercial when I was 7 or 8, this line stayed with me..."No one says, 'I want to be a junkie when I grow up." (After the girl says, "When i grow up, I want to be a ballerina).....

The second creepy one was the one when a girl is sitting in her bedroom holding a teddy bear, and suddenly water pours in, and you can see her desperately trying to open her door to get out and holding her breath, but she can't, because the water is blocking the door, and a bunch of her toys and shoes and clothes are floating around, and her body goes limp. There is this really sad, depressing, creepy music playing throughout, and at the final shot, her face is shown, dead,, and her mouth is open, and her hair is in her face, and the piano gopes BOOM9or BANG, whichever suites a piano note better,) as they show this part..... i got chills when i watched this when I was around 12! Some scary stuff!

Those were the days! We did have a thread about PDAs not long ago, but I don't have time right now to look for it. Some of those WERE really creepy.

Somebody suggested that it was not the ballerina dancer that was on drugs, but the people in the background who do nothing when she falls..... Because when you're on drugs, you are in youur own world, and don 't react to people in the non-drugged world.............. And, if you look closley, the ballerina looks like Tanisha from Cory In the House... Maybe it's her mother? The age seems just right..... The girl in the clip looks about 9,(this ad ran in 1992) and tanisha looks about 9 too, so if her mother had her about age 15, that could be her.........

I remember those. I also remember the one where the teenage boy is talking about how he does different drugs while his much younger sister keeps saying, "When I grow up, I wanna be just like my brother." That creeped me out. Then there was the one with the girl going nuts with the frying pan. I'm sure I'll think of some others later.

I remember the really cheesy Afterschool Special-ish one from the late 80's with the dad who found his sons stash and starts grilling him on it, and then the son goes "I learned it from watching you!!!!", LOL

That girl with the frying pan was a very young Rachael Leigh Cook, believe it or not.
