I knew this was going to be a tough game this week with or without westbrook, but when I heard westbrook was not playing I knew this would be a really really tough game.

The eagles just are not the same team when Brian westbrook is not in the line up. THat is a fact. They become a 1 dimensional team. Last night Buckhalter stepped up nicely, then he got hurt & booker came in & was absolutely useless.

My opinion of Andy reids playcalling this year has actually not been that bad. but last night it was down right pitiful.

Deshaun Jackson is a star in the making & i am willing to go thru the learning curves with him...

There were some positives about last night, & they were all on the defensive side of the ball.... I am loving the pressure the eagles front 4 are getting on the QB week after week, that is a very good sign moving foward. Parker & cole are great book ends, I am very happy with the defense so far this year. FOrced many turnovers last night & still could not win, last nights loss was definitly not on the defense!!! Good job guys!!!

The bears are a good team & they wanted it more last night, their defense is ferocious & stepped up big last night.

Good job to the bears & their fans.

A golden chance blown tonight by uncle andy & company

Yeah I defintely thought the Eagles were going in for the score. I don't know if I was more shocked at the Eagles plycalling or the fact that the Bears were able to stop a Eagles offense from scoring on the 1 yd line.

Didn't expect it to be close but that's how it turned out

The Eagles should've challenged that play with the Bears first score. I am sorry, but I feel as long as Andy Reid is head coach, the Eagles will never win a championship.

That doesn't have to be a bad thing

Example, Tony Dungy

he's won practically 2 championships, (yeah jon gruden won with DUNGY'S team) ok so one legitimate championship. i've never seen him mad or angry, or yelling

there's your point

and at least Andy Reid has done well, guys win games in the regular season and lose in the playoffs (cough WadePhillips cough)

Yea but Wade Phillips is not a great or even a good head coach. Before he came to Dallas I used to make fun of him. I just wanted him over Norv Turner but that's not saying much. The coach I really wanted was Bill Cowher. Now that guy is a coach.

Yeah Cowher is really good. He has a speech impetimate or something though lol, sounds like he has marbles in his mouth when he talks. Great coach though.

No offense, but Andy Reid hasn't won anything either. Yeah, he got to the SB, but he sure as heck didn't win it.

Wreckless

He's won playoff games. Just because you don't win a SB, doesn't make you a bad coach, when you win playoff games and a lot of regular season games.

Here's kind of a funny story. I fell asleep on this game and did not know who had won the next morning when I got up. But then, checking the Chicago channels, I immediately (and correctly) assumed that the Bears won -- because when they lose, the loss is eulogized endlessly!

I'm actually a Colts fan, but there are certain teams I want to see the Bears beat -- like Dallas in particular.

The Eagles are pretty good -- this game from what I saw was an exceptional effort from the Bears defense.

It IS ALLOWED for people to have opinions on these sports boards besides you...everytime somebody says something nice and opinionated about the Birds, you always have something to say.

I agree Mike, Washington just beat them, they are tied with Washington and are worst then the Giants, does that make them the best or worst team? No. I could ask questions everytime somebody says something nice about Dallas but I don't do it as much as you do when the Eagles are the variable.

I still remember some of the things solomon said about me when I first joined this board... Talk about making someone feel welcome.... NOT!!!

I will always remember those things he said!!!

He hates the eagles so much it effects his thinking... Hey I am the same way with the giants... But the difference is I have no problem giving respect when a team earns it... The giants are the best team in the nfc right now... the redskins very well may be the second best team... hell the cowboys & eagles may be number 3 & 4

I never let my hatred spew into my opinions about football.

Like i have said many times the eagles could beat the 16 greatest teams in the history of the nfl in successive weeks & he would still find something negative to say..

I hate eli manning with a passion, but somehow he won a superbowl, so he deserves respect... I still don't think he is a superstar QB & ROMO sure as hell isn't... Until you start winning some playoff games you dont belong in that league In my opinion. Eli is a good QB, i dont feel he is an Elite QB...

The Eagles are a solid team, if they had Westbrook last week, I am almost positive that they would've beaten the Bears. I think one thing the Eagles are lacking is a top notch receiver.

Really Mike? See it's hate Dallas, can't stand and don't like NYG but last couple of years seeing them still, I'm starting to hate them- getting into Dallas hate territory lol. Yeah I agree Brian, we need a receiver. Jackson is great but he is a rookie and thus will make a lot of mistakes, so it's trial and error with him. Curtis is the best thing we have to a # 1 and he is out. Reggie Brown isn't bad, when not number 1 and avant isn't bad either but will drop a pass occassionally.

I agree... I think Djack is that guy & when we get kevin curtis back Djack is going to be that much better.. The eagles are a solid team, anyone who does not see that just isn't paying attention... they are the 4th best team in division right now, but in all honesty that could very well mean theya re the 4th best team in football...

I am not a believer in the bills yet, the titans are a solid solid team, but I think despite their flawless records I think the entire nfc east is better than both those teams

My hatred for the giants dates back to 1980... I was six years old & my grandfather knew the head of security at the time at giants stadium... He took me to a game against the eagles & he took me to the tunnel where the two teams come out.... I saw them both come out & i had a football for the players to sign & every single giants player blew me off, on the other hand 6 eagle players told me to wait there & they would sign the ball when they finished warming up.... Little did I know then, but two of those six players were Jaws & Bill Bergy!!!!

my grandfather took me there with the intention of me continuing the family tradition of being a giants fan... boy did that backfire in his face

So I rooted for the eagles that day & every day of my life since!!!!

I don't know if the Chargers are in that mix. They are an excellent team who got to the AFC Championship last year and almost went to the superbowl with a superb d and an explosive offense but they got off to a bad start this year. I'd say the Ravens are up their as well.

The Titans really deserve mention when talking AFC. They are playing well on both sides of the ball, and that ability makes all the difference in close games.

And yes, a team can be in last place in their division at this stage and still be pretty good -- like what I've observed about the Eagles. Lots of NFC teams have stepped up their programs this year and it's going to take time to sort them out.
