"Love Lockdown"... easy. Followed by "Live Your Life" by T.I., and "Human" by the Killers. I enjoy "Let It Rock" but I could see myself getting tired of it in a few days.

I like the new Aguilera song, but it's such a back step from Back to Basics. She's so full of gimmicks now, she needs to go back to real, authentic days and sound of Stripped

We all know Britney is going to own lives with "Womanizer" though. :D

...and Rihanna just needs to move on. "Rehab" is a good song, but it's going to be 8th single off Good Girl Gone Bad. Enough already. One would imagine that the album would be 10x platinum by now. It has barely sold a million. :o

EmoJoe

^i was gonna put Womanizer, but i decided to wait since it hasnt really leaked, unless you count that LQ 40-second clip LOL.

and i agree about Rihanna. the only other song she shouldve released is "Breakin' Dishes" because that's a great song, but Rehab isn't doin' it for me. im getting sick of her anyway.

I'm not a fan of either, but does anyone like David Cook here?

I notice every year, there's always one AI person that everyone here gravitates toward and then you don't see a soul who likes the competition. It was Clay, then Diana, then Carrie, then Daughtry (don't remember who it was in 2007) and now it's Archuleta. It's funny to see people pick them like it's football teams instead of embracing both of them.

My friend Ryan and I were both for Cook simply because he actually did it on his own (plus he's legal and we'd both look like sick pedophiles if we liked Archie being in our mid to late 20's, lol), since stage parents should not be allowed on American Idol since it's supposed to be an adult competition and a stage dad is almost cheating.

oh, it seems like there's dozens of Archuleta fans here, lol

With the stage parents, I think there should be a rule against them because those are for child stars, not adult stars, so having a dad involved gives one an unfair advantage against all the other 20-somethings who started from scratch and are doing it themselves and the extent of their parents' involvement is watching them in the audience. I think Cook likely won over Archuleta just for that reason, people think of stage parents and the stigma that comes with them.

are they there to be stage parents ala Joe Jackson/Michael Lohan, or just be supportive and letting their kid pursue their dream?

These three celebrities are examples of why people hate stage parents:
1. Michael Jackson
2. Britney Spears
3. Lindsay Lohan

People blame the stage parents for why all three of them ****ed up so badly, and that's a big reason why the media turned on David A when they found out his dad is pulling the strings. I am sure you'd find it in bad taste, but on Chelsea Lately after he lost on AI, she had "secret footage" (it was all a joke tho) of David's dad beating him for losing. People just think of all the tragic examples of celebrities who have overbearing parents and hate them in general.

Lawd, people. I'll admit when all the stage dad crap came out, it concerned me, but the more it progressed the more you could see, the media was given an inch and they took a mile and decided to blow it up into something FAR bigger than it really was, for the sake of creating a STORY. If his dad was a bit competitive on his son's behalf, well, that crap happens in life, it doesn't mean he was mistreating David, or giving him an unfair edge. If you wanna dispute that, take it up with the folks at Idol and say they need to raise the age limit for those who can audition, because if you're a minor you will need a parent there with you. Honestly, I don't get why this is STILL being brought up after all this time. In simple words: Get over it. Find someone new to rag on or something new to gossip over because this is really played out. Time to MOVE ALONG, people.

i can say i wont be moving on to "next seasons flavor", im not watching AI anymore, or at least not supporting anyone, im kinda tired of it, and i feel strongly about Jordin and David and their music, and i feel like i can actually connect with them, so im not just going to abandon them because of someone next season. besides, i still like all of the people i used to. its not like i just abandon them after every season. i still listen to people like Carrie and Daughtry a lot.

To be honest he probably has a little bit of a stage Dad, but David is a good kid and I don't think his family is that crazy. I know the tabloids and whatever said a lot of stuff, but they blow a lot of stuff out of proportion as we all know. ok, I'm just ignoring you. You take things way too personal. David Archuleta is just a celebrity. Archie's defenders are almost as bad as MJ and Madge's. They're not better than your parents, they're not better than God, they shouldn't matter more to you than your friends, and you shouldn't take a bullet for them.

I stated that this subject is played out and blown out of proportion and you got all ~dEePlY hUrT n EmOtIoNaL~ like it was some personal issue with you.

I was mainly thinking of Michael Jackson and Madonna boards I've left because some of the people there are so fanatical that they'll take "Hard Candy is a bad album" more personally and will hurt their feelings more than "your mom's a slut" And it scares me that some of those fans would seriously choose their favorite entertainer over their parents.

i like Rihanna and ive liked pretty much all of her songs (though "Rehab" still has to grow on me), but i think it's time she took a BREAK. she hasnt taken a break...ever. lol.
I remember when I heard S.O.S., I figured it was a track off her debut because that album was only about six months old, and it turned out she was releasing a new album, and then she put out Umbrella just as the last single from A Girl Like Me started to fall. She said there's going to be a new album in early/mid 2009, so I have a feeling she won't be breaking for very long.

they probably will, that's why she's so prolific right now, so in case she burns out, she milked it as much as she could and will leave a decent Greatest Hits cd behind. It's like J. Lo several years ago, everyone got sick of her, but she at least left behind a decent GH
Very good point.
