I was watching the episode "The Car Mix Up" and the lady whose car Ozzie and Thorny borrow by mistake is called, Mrs. Brewster. I would estimate her age to be late thirties, early forties. In the Episode "Busy Christmas". the elderly woman who wants Ozzie and Harriet to join her Christmas Caroling group is also named Mrs. Brewster. Now these episodes were made about a year apart so I wonder why a different name wasn't used or if Ozzie had any special attachment to the name, Brewster?

I was wondering, did Ozzie have a hand in writing the shows and coming up with the characters or was it just the writers that did that? Maybe it was a name of a family member or friend and that's why they used it often? Just a idea.

Did Ozzie have a hand in writing the show. That's an understatement. He was one of the writers. Knowing Ozzie, he would have been the head writer. His brother was also a writer for the show.

Ozzie was the shows producer as well.

No one before or since has ever had so much complete control of a show for such a long period of time.

I was under the impression that real life husband and wife teams such as Ozzie and Harriet were allowed to be in bed together because they were married in real life.

I don't recall George and Gracie or Lucy and Desi in the same bed.
