View Full Version : Adamantium Launches Nick at Nite II in His Basement/Bedroom
Adamantium 09-22-2008, 04:08 PM To heck with the real Nick at Nite and TV Land. Last night, Adam (known here as Adamantium and "Hey Sexy") launched his own DVD network. Called "Nick at Nite II", the schedule features classic TV shows from the 1950s and '60s. Here's the lineup.
8:00pm - The Andy Griffith Show
8:30pm - Family Affair
9:00pm - McHale's Navy
9:30pm - The Adventures of Superman
10:00pm - The Abbott and Costello Show
10:30pm - The Monkees
11:00pm - The Wild Wild West
Ratings were very high (in other words, I enjoyed myself and plan to continue this lineup for a while). Shows to join the channel later on are "I Love Lucy", "The Munsters" and "The Twilight Zone".
In between the shows (I start them right at the start of each half-hour) I pop in an oldies CD and play oldies music. I'm kicking it old school. So old, that I wasn't alive when any of these shows or music were new. :)
So take that Nick at Nite/TV Land!
comedyfreak 09-25-2008, 04:09 AM Good for you!! Sounds like a great lineup.
Adamantium 09-25-2008, 04:19 PM Good for you!! Sounds like a great lineup.
Yeah, I've really been enjoying it.
This is my first time watching "McHale's Navy." I had seen a couple episodes on TV Land a few years back, but this is the first time I'm watching my DVDs. It's a pretty good show. My favorite character is Gruber.
I'm also watching many of "The Wild Wild West" episodes for the first time and I am LOVING this show. I'm glad to know that Dr. Loveless is a recurring character.
I've seen almost all the episodes to The Andy Griffith Show, Family Affair and all of The Monkees. But it's still nice to have something familiar every night. And they're all great shows.
comedyfreak 09-26-2008, 04:11 AM I should try this, only the new tv season has started. Maybe this weekend.
Schmoopie 09-26-2008, 04:41 AM That's a great idea! I'm sure your Nick at Nite II will be a big hit!

dakert 09-26-2008, 09:55 PM I think Superman and Abbott and Costello is a terrific hour of tv programming
Old School is the Best!! you realize this when TVL shows Cosby Show Marathon and while it is okay, you give up on it after a few episodes!
Jude The Obscure 09-28-2008, 09:54 PM Great idea, Mr. Hey Sexy!
I find myself often putting on my classic shows than watching whatever is playing on "live" TV. I just ordered the My Three Sons set. I'm in the middle of the Father Knows Best season 1 viewing, with some Ozzie and Harriet thrown in.
Adamantium 09-29-2008, 04:24 PM Great idea, Mr. Hey Sexy!
Oh good. It's catching on.
So far, I continue to enjoy my lineup, especially "The Wild Wild West". I'm also really into "The Adventures of Superman." As a kid, the show bored me because the villains were always (or most of the time) gangsters. And compared to "Batman" which had villains like The Joker, Egghead, King Tut, Catwoman, etc... "Superman" just seemed boring. However, now that I'm older, I'm able to enjoy the series more. The early seasons anyways. I assume I'll still enjoy the color seasons which were more Kid-Centric.
BTW, I'm looking forward to the first "My Three Sons" DVD release. That's the ultimate show I've wanted to own all the episodes to since I first saw the show on Nick at Nite in the '80s. Of course, then I wanted all the episodes on tape, because DVDs weren't out then (as I'm sure you already knew, lol).
dakert 09-29-2008, 09:16 PM Adam --have you ever thought of buying the complete series of My Three Sons from ioffer.com? I got the whole thing, all 12 seasons for only 50.00. I will probably buy the complete series when it is all released but I just couldnt wait for 12 seasons to be released in 1/2 season sets.
I bought The Patty Duke show from ioffer and it sure is a terrific companion piece to My Three Sons. Patty Duke has the Nick at Nite logo :-) along with original Breck shampoo ads
bencasey 09-29-2008, 09:48 PM I just got back from a trip where I watched a bunch of Wanted Dead or Alive episodes. I wasn't into westerns as a kid so these are all new to me. I'm also really loving Have Gun Will Travel, which is a great show. Besides that I'm on Mannix, Untouchables and I Spy. Over the air television is so bad now that I've just about given it up. Thank goodness for DVDs and 30 years of videotaping.

A week ago, I had a dream that I had bought My Three Sons: The Complete Series. And I was having a ball watching all the different seasons. I watched some Mike/Bub and some Mike/Charley and some Ernie/Charley. Then I woke up and realized all I was going to get were the first 18 episodes. However, I must say I that I'm grateful for having any episodes. But still, after a dream like that, lol.
A while ago I bought the complete series of "Car 54, Where Are You?" and it was from the Nick at Nite broadcasts.
How's the quality of the My Three Sons DVDs? I will still buy the official releases but it would be nice to go ahead and be able to watch the rest of the shows.
Adamantium 09-30-2008, 08:46 PM I just got back from a trip where I watched a bunch of Wanted Dead or Alive episodes. I wasn't into westerns as a kid so these are all new to me. My dad as all of the "Wanted: Dead or Alive" DVDs and he's been watching those lately. He also has "Have Gun, Will Travel." I've seen some of those episodes and they were great. I wish they'd release the rest of that series. I'd buy my own copies.
dakert 09-30-2008, 09:56 PM If you like My Three Sons You will definitely like getting the complete series--THE QUALITY IS FINE, Just like you were watching it on TVL. I like watching a series from 1st to last but this series has 45 discs so I made it to disc 14 and I had to jump to some color episodes :-) I wanted to see some Chip and Polly episodes where her father (played by Norman Alden) always seems to be blowing a gasket but I will keep looking.
Adamantium 10-05-2008, 01:35 AM Nick at Nite II is keeping Patrick McGoohan prisoner… sort of. The classic 1960s television series “The Prisoner” is coming to Nick at Nite II for a limited run. Every Tuesday and Friday night, we’ll show the program following “The Wild Wild West.” This will only be for one cycle. Once we air the 17th episode, then the show will leave and McGoohan will be free. ;)
Why just Tuesdays and Fridays? Because I'm off of work on Wednesdays and Saturdays. So I can stay up later on those nights.
storrs19 10-05-2008, 09:54 AM I have the same set of My Three Sons from I-Offer and love it. It works out to about $1 per disc and is well worth it. Many episodes are 25 minutes long being taped from a local station on the west coast. I got tired of waiting for CBS to release it as I figure it will be twelve years or more before they do. I need to get that Car 54 set as well because I loved that show along with Patty Duke, Dobie Gillis, Ann Sothern and the other shows that Nick at Nite used to show when they were a good channel. I watch dvds every night as there is nothing on television I want to see outside of sports. TV is in a very sad state these days.
Adamantium 10-12-2008, 05:15 AM Three big things to mention!
I'm changing the order of my shows to this:
8:00pm - The Andy Griffith Show
8:30pm - Family Affair
9:00pm - The Adventures of Superman (replaces McHale's Navy)
9:30pm - The Abbott and Costello Show (replaces The Adventures of Superman)
10:00pm - McHale's Navy (replaces The Abbott and Costello Show)
10:30pm - The Monkees
11:00pm - The Wild Wild West
The weekends are bringing an extra hour to Nick at Nite II!
7:00pm - The Andy Griffith Show
7:30pm - Family Affair
8:00pm - The Adventures of Superman
8:30pm - The Abbott and Costello Show
9:00pm - McHale's Navy
9:30pm - The Monkees
10:00pm - Gidget *New*
10:30pm - Good Morning, World *New*
11:00pm - The Wild Wild West
This Halloween, I'm having a Bewitched/The Munsters Marathon! From 8 to Midnight, that's four episodes of each show! I'll write up the actual schedule later.
Also, it's official! Nick at Nite II is the highest rated channel in Adam's house. Yay!!
Jude The Obscure 10-12-2008, 11:04 AM Well, "Hey Sexy" (LOL)--since when did Good Morning, World was out on DVD?
Just curious.......haven't seen that since those USA reruns.

It's been out for a couple years now. I've never seen it in stores though. I had top order mine on Amazon.
I wasn't aware USA ever reran that show.
dakert 10-12-2008, 03:57 PM Hey Adam--I was wondering if you have a favorite snack food/drink while you watch tv.
I usually have a pizza on sunday night and when I watch Cannon (ioffer dvds) I like to have a mixed drink haha

Back when USA was a GOOD channel! Part of deal to rerun old short lived sitcoms such as "He and She".

I'm very weird when it comes to eating to television. I get grossed out easily, and so many shows I refuse to eat to. However, most shows on my channel are good to eat to. Lately I've been eating Jimmy Dean's Breakfast Bowls (with Bacon) to whatever I'm watching when I'm hungry.I'm a big pop drinker, so I drink Coke. I have very fond memories of my high school days, eating pizza to my tapes of "Happy Days." To this day, when I think of "Happy Days" (mainly season three), I think of pizza, lol.
Doodyville10019 10-14-2008, 07:14 PM Dude! No "Sea Hunt" on Nick at Nite II? Bummer!!
bencasey 10-19-2008, 11:14 PM My rotation at work, where I usually can relax after dinner, is The Untouchables, Mannix, I Spy and Have Gun Will Travel.
Adamantium 10-20-2008, 04:07 PM Dude! No "Sea Hunt" on Nick at Nite II? Bummer!!
I don't have that. Is it out on DVD? Even if I had it, I can only have so many shows at a time. Of course, I'll replace shows in time.
