I bought a R&B Soul CD with a collection of 30 songs for $9.99 and got home and played it and found out that

1. It's a NEW STEREO RECORDING instead of the Original

2. The Song is not as Long as the Original

What a Waste of money even though it was $9.99-lol

How did I fall for this? It says it was new recordings but it was on the BACK of the CD cover and at the bottom. Not on the Front. I guess that's called creative advertising. DAMM!

Was there a sticker on the jewel case saying K-Mart exclusive? If not then don't blame them. You should call or write to the company that produced the cd and take it up with them. I feel your pain though, I hate when an artist releases a box set and it's full of new recordings of their biggest hits. The new versions almost always suck and sound nothing like the original.

Yeah it sucks, but K-mart is making money off the Sh*T so they are part of the scam too-lol I never seen this sh*t in a rea record store only a sh*thole like k-mart

I bought it for a song by "harold Melvin and the Blue Notes"

Sounds more like-"Harold Melvin and the Green Notes-LOL

Alot of oldies CDs are the New Stereo Recordings. That's why I have to shop very carefully. I also order from Time-Life because they have the original recordings.

I hate Kmart so much that I won't even set foot inside one. I don't like Wal-Mart either, but I'd rather go there any day than KMart. Ugh...

We don't even have K-Marts around here anymore, maybe it's because of this reason, their merchandise sucked

The way the CD put together was creative. On the front it had in very large print

FOREVER SOUL R&B and on the back way at the bottom it had

new stereo recordings by the original artists

lol.

I bought a "70's Hits" CD once at Best Buys that was the same way. None of the songs sounded nothing like the original recordings. You really have to watch what you buy when it comes to music CD's.

K-Mart is the only retail place I'll buy sportscards at. They always have a great selection and are priced fair unlike Wally World.

 Oh, OK! I thought maybe it was something I'd never heard of 'cause I live in Kansas!

Yeah, I know what you mean! I bought a 3-disc compilation of 70's hit "by the original artists" for $5.00 at Wal-Mart once. I was disappointed when I listened to it and found out it was new recordings; didn't sound much like the original songs! Now I know to read ALL the fine print on things before I buy it!

My aunt told me not to buy the CD but I didn't listen to her-lol The fact that it was $9.99 for 30 songs should have been a red flag

OH Nuts!

I don't buy CDs from K-Mart or Wal-Mart anymore because I used to buy them from Walmart and and occasionally K-Mart and they don't sell explicit CDs. I would want an explicit rap cd and I would get an edited one. So I either download cds off the internet or buy em from places like Target, Sam Goody etc.

Where is there a Sam Goody in this area? Unless you mean in Jersey. And I can accept a edited version of a 25 TV episode but will not aaccept a edited version of a 5 min song-lol

I hate to tell you this, but a lot of big box stores sell "sung by studio singers" decade sets. I usually avoid these and look for official compilation releases by labels like Rhino.

My Dad bought me a 3 CD set of a bunch of songs from the '80s. When I saw the CDs, I wa so happy, but then I looked twice and saw that the songs on the CDs were performed by The Countdown Singers. Every time I buy a CD now, I double check to make shure it does not say PERFORMED BY THE COUNTDOWN SINGERS or RECORDED BY STUDIO ARTISTS.

I don't buy cds anymore as I own an ipod but I do buy all my dvds from ebay. And thus far, have only had one small incident. I won an auction for Miracle Worker with Ann Bancroft and Patty Duke and instead got some 90's Disney version in the mail. That was the only mixup or bad incident I can recall on ebay - I never have received anything bootleg or defective or used.
I used to buy dvds at Walmart but once I purchased Home Alone 2 and when I got it home and opened it the manufacturer had put Home Alone 1 in the case. I tried to take it back to Walmart but the manager wouldn't believe me and implied I did something shady with the dvds. I was arguing with him for 15 minutes and got so mad I threw the dvd case at him and walked out. For months I could not go into that store because the cashiers recognized me when I'd come in and snicker about the fit I had. I actually have a very long temper and am very meek and shy but that guy really pushed my buttons especially when he pretty much accused me of dvd piracy!

That happened to me too, but some of the new recordings actually sound good.

But as for K-Mart, I would buy Coventry Cove Christmas Stuff there.
