Ellen Pompeo, star of the hit medical drama 'Grey's Anatomy,' graces the cover of October's Allure, and gives a candid interview ranging from what she was like as a child, to why Meredith and Derek shouldn't be together anymore.

How Seeing Rockettes Inspired Her to Act: "Afterward, I stood up and said, 'That's what I want to be. They're alive. That's what I want to do."

Her Childhood Stage Fright: "I was very sad and introverted as a child, and I would never, ever have had the confidence or the extroverted nature to be in a school play."

On 'Grey's Anatomy:' "When I did the pilot, I thought, 'I can't stand medical shows. This will never get on.'"

Her Thoughts on Meredith and McDreamy: "Just move on. There are plenty of fish in the sea."

On Fashion and Art: "Fashion is an art form like any other. All artists love all art. Anything creative -- cooking, literature, art -- I love it all."

gotta love her bluntness.

I personally always thought she should be more vocal about complaining how they write her character. I honestly think she's one the least likable leads I've ever seen on a major program (and she's not a "love to hate" bad guy either, but just unplesant). I think a reason why Heigl's career has taken off so much better is because Izzie is a much more likable character and audiences like her.
