This caught my attention as its been in my local paper often since the serial killer is originally from a town only an hour or so away. His name is Bruce Mendenhall and has been charged with killing several prostitutes around the Midwest. He's also accused of trying to hire two men to kill two police detectives and three witnesses in one of the cases. I can't help but wonder if he could be the same one that UM profiled who killed prostitutes in Ohio. Here is an article:

I found this article a few months back about Mendenhall and found it interesting.
Mendenhall implicates a 24 year old sex offender who once dated his daughter as being an accomplice to some of the killings. Not sure if Bruce is just trying to take this guy down too or what?

I wouldn't be surprised if there are a lot of more murders than the ones they think he did. He has apparently implicated himself in 3 of them I believe. I've always been fascinated by the fact that serial killers will confess to some but not all of the murders. It's as if they are keeping some to themselves. Something private that no one else can share.

I'm currently reading "The Riverman" by Robert Keppel. He was the investigator on both the Ted Bundy cases, and the Green Rilver Killer Task Force. It's fascinating because as most people here probably know Ted Bundy offered his services to help catch the Green River killer. But in reading this I've found great insight into Ted's mind, and therefore the mind of many serial killers. And with so many of them it is more of an intimate relationship between killer and victim (I don't mean intimate in a love or sexual way even). There's this connection there that only they can really understand. And for whatever reason they want to keep some victims held back and know they are never found or connected to them.

I am under the believe that there was more than one "Ohio Prostitute killer", each working separately.

I also think one or two of those murders may be non-serial killer murders that got included in the serial killers murder total.

I think it's possible that Mendenhal may have commited some of those murders.
