I was wondering why he was? He was only in the first 2/3 seasons sporadically. Anybody know or have a guess to why he was written out or not seen anymore? He was kind of a goof to me. He was ok.

Yeah, Bag was ok.

He was the One with the Demons Jacket ... why Richie & Potsie wanted to join that Gang. [Episode: The Deadly Dares]

And he was the One, Richie and Potsie and Ralph bet with who will get a Girl or has to run over Arnold's Parking Lot in Underwear... [Episode: Cruisin']

And he was also a Member (the Drummer) of the Band, when they were playing at the Leopard Lodge. [Episode: Fonzie joins the Band]

I never liked him. He wasn't really written out - they just stopped using him. There were a few characters early on that didn't last all that long (Marsha, Trudy, Spike, Wendy, etc.).

I'm still working on watching Season One, and I have yet to see this "Bag" character. Where did they get a name like that?

I don't know lol. But I know he wasn't written out per say, I just didn't know how to put the question. I know they never addressed it, it's like Chuck, he just disappeared like Bag . Yeah Marsha just wasn't shown anymore, I would of liked to see her more, especially as a waitress in the new Arnolds. Then they had new guys for the new Arnolds era. Clarence was finally shown, guys like Bobby and other guys that stuck around that I don't even know the names of lol. Who was Wendy, another waitress? Spike I never liked, he was annoying, not funny and they tried to replica a mini Fonz in putting him out on set, but it didn't work and I didn't like his character. Bag was alright, I was just wondering what everybody else thought about him.

And Iris, remember the Halloween episode I think in Season 2 with him in it? They go to the haunted house and there's supposed to be something scary their, and they see the headless ghost or something come down the stairs, and it ends up being the demons, Bag one of them . I don't remember what the gang thought was in the house they had the party at, it was the headless ghost or something funny.

In the first season, Bag appeared in the following episodes:

"The Deadly Dares"
"Give the Band a Hand"

Who was Wendy, another waitress?
Yes. She appeared in season two.

Oh ok, I think I remember her. Yeah he was in a lot of episodes in the first 2 seasons. Then maybe 2/3, if that, episodes after that. I liked him in the episode where Richie and Potsie wanted to become Demons, to be cool and get chicks. They had to tie the police officer's shoe laces together. So they went under the Police truck and tied the laces together, while he was talking to Marcia out in the parking lot, and he tripped  . Oh it was hilarious! The Halloween one with him at the end is good as well.

I like Bag in the "Fonzie joins the Band" Episode, where he's playing the Drums. He can't be such a bad Guy, when the Others play with him, right? Right!

Yeah I like that episode too. LOL @ The Fonz's bongo solo, it was boring as hell  and really bland.

i liked the Bag character - if only because its nice to have a JERK around sometimes to make the good guys' lives more interesting.

my theory is that the producers were trying to cut down on speaking characters to keep the costs down.

I loved Wendy and Marsha and would've preferred it if they had kept those characters longer.

Marsha didn't stick around because the actress who played her, Beatrice Cohen, accepted a role on the new Wonder Woman series, where she got a lot more screen time. The character was brought back for the flashback episode of how the Fonz and Richie met (hence the audience applause for her, who apparently fondly remembered her).

lol that's good. you have a keen eye. keep on making more small but big & good observations lol. It makes for more good, interesting conversations, espec. if it includes a perspective of such a HD fan as yours.

My favorite seasons of HD are one and two. I really liked the supporting peripheral cast like Marsha, Wendy, and Bag. They really added to the whole 50's setting. It's funny but once they went to the live audience in season 3, those characters were gone with the wind.

I do remember that flashback episode and liked the inclusion of Marsha. I just looked at the episode guide and it it appears that Bag made an appearance in a season 4 episode (#77).

Yeah, didn't Marsha also show up in the Season 3 episode where Fonzie is a cop trying to come up with ways to reduce the "violence/rumbles" in town by playing softball instead? (EDIT: in the episode "Fonzie The Flatfoot")

I also remember Bag in the episode where Sticks Downing first joined the band (where the Cunninghams had the "Weclome Hawaii To The US" party). EDIT: "Fonzie's New Friend"

Yes, Wendy appeared during Season 2. You see her in a ton of episodes from Season 2 (most notably "Kiss Me Sickly" where she calls Fonzie a "Beast").

I don't remember seeing the character Moose at all during Season 2 - just in Season One.

It was also interesting to see in the earlier episodes where Ralph didn't hang out with Richie and Potsie as much. He was more a "club" member ("GEMS") or "Class Clown" that they'd bump into at school, sock hops, or casually at Arnolds

I think the first episode where they really the "Three Musketeers" so to speak was either "In The Name of Love" or "Knock Around The Block" from Season One.

I must say one thing, I love all 11 seasons but I always regret that people like Chuck Bag or were left there after the 2th season and never recovered.

I want to see them in the seasons following ...

Fonzie in short, pots, Richie, Ralph and the family Cunningham had some development not?

Chachi and Alfred who came after them also had their own evolution

because all the characters riccorrenti the first seasons have been discarded? is not a bit like denying the origins of the sit-com?

I just saw Bag also in the episode where Fonzie's cousin Angelo comes to town and they are all trying to break the records.

Bag's trying to break the record for longest Handstand.

I always thought it is funny that many people refer to Chuck Cunningham as being "written out" of the series. To me, he was just a forgotten character and writers and produders changed the Cunningham family to a 2 child family from a 3 child family.

IF they had truly written Chuck out of the series, they would have said something like he went to Europe or died or something. But really there was no official explanation of the disappearance of Chuck.

I think that was the only episode Bag apeared in season 4. After that episode I dont think he was ever scene again on the show.
My guess he moved away?

Agreed; they did this as well with Marsha and Wendy from Arnolds as well.

Heck, they got rid of Chuck too after Seasons 2-3 on .

No wait, he just left and never came back.

Its funny how TV shows and real life are lot alike. You have people disapearing from TV shows like Spike,Coy & Vance,Cindy Snow,Bags,Chuck Cunningham. As I remember kids that I went to school with that disapeared too. I remember when I was in grade school that I had some school chums that vanished by the next school year. "Have a great summer.See you next fall" But then when school starts again in the fall there no where to be found. As at some point during the summer time they moved away. And was never scene again. One of my old school hood friends that I have stayed friends with threw out my whole life calles those kids "One Hit Wonders" New kids that came to are school and was not there for very long.

I also saw him play a shyster lawyer on a Season 2 episode of Barney Miller.
