View Full Version : Is it worth it to buy the DVD sets?

The reason I'm asking is because it looks to me like there are NO extras anywhere to be found! That's crazy! There are TONS of things they could put on these DVD's, like interviews or something!
I love the show, and although I'm only halfway through the first season ("DVD-watching-wise" that is!), I'm starting to fall in love with Happy Days again. It's nice to see a show that's funny and doesn't rely on swearing or constant references to sex to entertain.

Not only are their no extras, there are problems with music I think too. So I think they changed the music around which I hate. I like original material.

OH Nuts!

I always really liked the show. If a really good DVD set of the show comes out I'd seriously consider taking the plunge. But right now in in the middle of my "LHOP Festival";)

Yeah, they should be EXTRAS.

And yes, the Music-Changing is annoying.

But anyway ... I have bought all three Seasons, pre-ordered No.4 and will buy any Following, cause I really wanna have them on Dvd.

Are they still good tho? I hate that they would change the music.

the music is good in seasons 1 and 3 (and hopefully 4), season 2 is not so very good at all, music-wise

I'm gonna get the Region 2 version of the second season, i just need to find a good deal on a region-free dvd player

I don't get that- What's the region 1 and region 2 thing about? I just never got it- isn't there only one release of a show's DVD? I mean like, they release it once for everybody- the US, Germany, Europe etc.

And I have Season 1- the only season I bought so far and the music seems really good. I wonder why they f*ed up the music for the 2nd, when nothing really changed, they were still in the RATC era of HD.

No! It has always been like that.
With Videos it was NTSC (for America) and PAL (for Europe).
Now with DVDs it's Region1 (for America) and Region2 (for Europe). And a Code-free Dvd Player is needful, when you like me buy DVDs from Overseas. Otherwise I couldn't watch them...

It's somehow how the Disc (previously Video) was taped. There's a different System on each Continent. Don't ask me any Details. It's technical, so I can't explain it ;)

Like Iris mentioned, there is NTSC (US and some Asian countries) and PAL (Europe and the rest of the world. The differences between the two are the the image resolution and the way shows are broadcast (NTSC=30 frames per second, PAL=25 frames) and other technical stuff that is kind of hard to understand. I'm guessing that the difference between R1 and R2 DVD may be the way they are encoded, but it's just a guess. :)

The info is from what I remember from a class I took last semester (I'm a communications film & TV major), so some of the details may be wrong).
