View Full Version : eagles/cowboys thoughts
mriggles 09-16-2008, 12:21 AM Well first off let me say congrats to the cowboys & to solomon & sonny.
Second of all WOW my god what a game!!!!!!!!
Here is what I knew going into this game about the eagles. I knew they were improved, I was not sure how much. Like I said all week, if the eagles came in and got smoked that would tell me they have not improved all that much...
BUT what I did learn is that the eagles are for real, they have improved In alot of phases of the game.
The thing that is going to keep me up all night tonight is this: Where were the blitzes that give romo fits... The 3 or 4 times we blitzed, good things happened.
The bottom line is this: The eagles D could not stop the cowboys. Our D is better than that, It is hard to find one person on that D that deserves a shower tonight. THat was piss poor defense. The cowboys Defense aint all its cracked up to be either, DMAC was slicing & diceing them all night, but the difference is, when the game was on the line, the boys made the plays & we didn't.
I am pissed off beyond belief, but after the pain from this loss wears off, I am going to realize that my team is pretty dam good & we can compete with the best team in the league in their house. A few plays here or there & we win. I am not going to go nuts over this, I am proud of them... (well I am proud of the offense)
The turning point of this game was when we lost shawn andrews... He is the anchor of that stellar O LINE & when he went down, the dallas pressure was just to much for them... When Shawn was in there, it was a totally different game.
So Congrats to sonny & solomon, you won this battle & i am looking foward to the return match @ the linc in late december.
I think my boys prooved to everyone they are a pretty good team!
Wreckless 09-16-2008, 12:23 AM I don't even care- **** this game. Eagles ****ed up. A ****ing lateral on 4th and 17? WHAT? Andy, lay off the Bud.
Wreckless 09-16-2008, 12:24 AM The turning point of the game is when we fumbled the ball twice. Yeah Romo threw a pick but 2 fumbles back to back. I'm still ****ing angry over this game, I t's unbelievable.
Big C 09-16-2008, 12:25 AM Your thoughts on DeSean Jackson's blooper, mriggles?
Mr. Television 09-16-2008, 12:29 AM Thanks Mike...I appreciate it. I have to give the Eagles cretit. From what I saw tonight the Eagles are a great team....My God McNabb looked like he did 5 years ago. I'm just exhausted. The rematch should be great. This is what NFL Football is all about.
Wreckless 09-16-2008, 12:32 AM If McNabb looked so great, why did he throw a 5 yard pass on 4th down? McNabb is really annoying me. He did great for most of the game, then the play calling, defense, special teams and at the end- the very poor play calling got on my nerves.

Yes the Eagles are very much improved this season, no way in hell I thought they would score 37 points in Dallas. That showed me that D-mac is back at full strength and playing like a future hall of famer again. That's why I took tomorrow off Mike because Iknew the game would be wild tonight and wanted to be home tomorrow so I relax mentally-lol Damm, this was a game that affected my health, WOW
Schmoopie 09-16-2008, 01:50 AM I missed it because I was out celebrating my birthday but it sounds like it was a good game. Congrats to the Cowboys and their fains!
littlebelle 09-16-2008, 04:27 PM I started watching when the score was 26 and 30... or something like that. I stopped watching after I realized I didn't care which team won.
EricIdlefan 09-16-2008, 07:37 PM Despite the loss, one thing is for certain.
Donovan McNabb is back!

That's because you live in the NFC west part of the country. It would be the same way for me it the Seahawks were in a shootout with the Cardinals on Monday night. It would mean more to you because u live in seattle and they are playing another NFC west team.

Yeah, I guess. I decided at one point I was rooting for the Cowboys but then I started rooting for McNabb... haha didn't really work out.

Just like next week, I won't have a big interest in what happens between San Diego and the Jets on Monday Night.
But I will be interested in the Sunday Night Game, Dallas vs Green Bay
Big C 09-16-2008, 09:33 PM Ironically,
littlebelle's team plays Dallas in Big D on Turkey Day.
I'm sure she's pumped up for that...
littlebelle 09-16-2008, 10:32 PM Yup, although I wont be excited for all the Cowboy fans in my life to start harassing me.
mriggles 09-16-2008, 10:36 PM Your thoughts on DeSean Jackson's blooper, mriggles?
it was a dumb bonehead play, what do u expect me to say? The kid has incredible talent but the one liability is he is a bit on the cocky side. I can tell you this I would be shocked to ever see that from him again.
mriggles 09-16-2008, 10:39 PM Thanks Mike...I appreciate it. I have to give the Eagles cretit. From what I saw tonight the Eagles are a great team....My God McNabb looked like he did 5 years ago. I'm just exhausted. The rematch should be great. This is what NFL Football is all about.
agreed my friend, the one thing I can take out of this game is that I know the eagles are contenders & not pretenders... After last week against st louis I wasn't sure what category they fell into.
Playing the way they did in dallas against the team that I feel is the best in the sport goes along way!!!
Im still exhausted from the game, back & forth goofy play after goofy play... LOL
mriggles 09-16-2008, 10:41 PM If McNabb looked so great, why did he throw a 5 yard pass on 4th down? McNabb is really annoying me. He did great for most of the game, then the play calling, defense, special teams and at the end- the very poor play calling got on my nerves.
honestly bro, dmac was great all game.. He f'd up on the fumble...no doubt about that...But it wasn't his call on 4th and long to go for a f'n hook & ladder.... I nearly threw my chair out the window when I saw that.
The defense was horrendous....
They shut owens down in the 2nd half, then they couldnt contain barber & witten.. The scheme overall sucked if u asked me, JJ should be ashamed of that game plan.

I hear ya bro... I was quite steamed last night after the game... Not about how they played but what a bonehead play that was on 4th and long with the game on the line...
mriggles 09-16-2008, 10:43 PM Despite the loss, one thing is for certain.
Donovan McNabb is back!
He sure is.... absolutely no doubt about that !!!

Yeah on 4th and 17 you have to throw BEYOND THE FIRST DOWN MARKER, me and my friend say that all the time. Why the hell is a QB throwing a 7 yd pass on 3rd and 11?-lol

I agree, he played great. I was just so mad about that 5 yard play at the end of the game when they still had a shot, not much but a shot to win it. And they threw a lateral. Yeah the d wasn't that good, Stewart Bradley didn't look that good. That's alright though, he's still learning, in his first full year and young. I'd rather him make the small or big mistakes now then later on when we need him or put all the pressure on him, being how good he is, you know? Good game though.. You're right, the only thing they did was stop T.O. in the second half and the Samuel pick. They should of blitzed way way more then they did, which wasn't much. But when they did blitz, it worked great so I don't know why they stopped doing it.

I know man, that sh*t drives me nuts lol. The Eagles seem to love that 5 yard play, when they are way back from the 1st down marker lol. I don't get it either.
Wreckless 09-16-2008, 11:39 PM MrIggles, Deshaun Jackson isn't exactly a rocket scientist lol. He did almost the same thing when he played in Cali in college. He dove too early and missed the endzone and celebrated too early, didn't even cross the plane then either . Kid is so talented but you gotta think sometimes in football lol. It's not just athleticism. Vince Young isn't exactly the brightest bulb in the bunch either but I won't go further on about him.
mriggles 09-17-2008, 10:10 PM Yeah on 4th and 17 you have to throw BEYOND THE FIRST DOWN MARKER, me and my friend say that all the time. Why the hell is a QB throwing a 7 yd pass on 3rd and 11?-lol
typical andy reid...trying to outsmart the defense....

agreed on every point!

Pittsburgh is going to be tough I think, they have a strong running game. Cowboys have a toughie too, the Packers and Aaron rodgers. Both of our teams have tough games this week
Giants have another cakewalk, THE BENGALS-lol

agreed Sol, the steelers are the best team in the AFC In my opinion...they are tough, & very deep...It will be another knock down drag out fight.
I am not sure what to think about your game... My gut says pack will win, but I am not sure..I am not sold on Rogers like the rest of the world seems to be. I will change my mind 100 times before friday when I make my selections
