Just wanted your thoughts on the National League standings and races lol....Diamondbacks now 4.5 back of the Dodgers in the West..Cubs have the Central locked...NL East, 1 game, Mets 83-65, Phils 83-67 and Phils leading the WC (tied with Milwaukee, but we took the season series against Milwaukee so I consider us ahead of them) and Houston 2 games back of us in the WC....

I think the Phils & Mets will both be in the playoffs, think whatever you want but one team will win the East and the other the WC...Milwaukee is getting beat a lot, at the wrong time and they play the Cubs 6 more times while Phils and NY play Washington, Florida and Atlanta.

I'm not Soloman, but can I join in this discussion? I love Lou Pinella (and we miss him terribly here in Seattle!:( ) and I'm very fond of the Cubs, so I want them to win it all this year!

Anybody can join in the discussion lol...I want Phils to win it all, then the Cubs can win it next year lol. Nah I think Cubs are a great team, we'll have to see. Anything can happen in the playoffs to any team, they would all be great to make it that far, an example would be last year- the Rockies won 21 of 22 games.

Damn, the Phils BARELY beat the Braves tonight, by the skin of their finger. Howard hit a 2 run homer then B Lidge loaded the bases with an out and got out of it. Phils lead the east by a .5 a game, Mets lead the Wild Card by half a game. That's what it's going to come down to. Cubs pretty much got the Central to themselves, beating Milwaukee tonight and Arizona keeps losing. I kinda hope we play the Dodgers. Arizona is good but not as good as Philly, the Cubs and Mets but with Arizona, as opposed to LA, you have to face Webb and Danny Haren. Even Big Unit isn't doing that bad for his age. The last week and a half are going to be exciting, no doubt.

seeing the Mets get in as a wildcard won't satisfy me at all. If they don't win the NL east i really won't care what happens after that.

even though i don't want the phils to make the playoffs at all, if they get in as a wildcard it won't be as bad as them winning the NL east for the second year in a row. My choice is that they are home when the playoffs start but the way they are playing now I see them getting a wildcard or the divison

and the brewers can kiss my a$$ because they lose all 4 games to a team that was chasing them for a wildcard. They couldn't do nothing but fire that dumb a$$ manager the next day.

The Brewers are F*CKING pathetic, They are up 6-2 in the 9th inning with 2 OUTS and those a$$cracks lose 7-6 in 12 innings-lol

They need to fire the entire F*Cking team

This means the Phillies and Mets will make the postseason

It all depends on who wins the NL East and who wins the Wild Card because one team will have to play the Cubs and go to Wrigley field for most of that series.

Phils still in 1st...We won all 9 games at Turner Field this year vs. the Braves. Mets win so everything stays the same in the races, LOL @ Milwaukee...

Yeah, good. I'd rather not face Sabathia, and even Ben Sheets after him, on his best day when healthy.

Phils are up 1.5 games in the East, baby. Mets have to face Cubs, while we face Atlanta and Washington.

I just love the title of this thread...it's tighter than pantyhose two sizes small (remember that Good Times episode?)!!!!

It's tighter then.......Oh nevermind. Great day for sports. Phils win, Eagles win. Yankees last game at historic Yankee Stadium. SNF- Dallas @ Green Bay. A Green Bay win would cap off the historic day.

As long as the Phillies don't win the WS I'm satisfied. So just consider me a fan of all the teams in the playoffs starting in October.

Phils will be in so you're essentially routing for them as well

True. The Cubs are a great team but once you get in, you're in- much like the Rockies last year. We have won 10/11 until now. Even if you get in, you can get hot in the playoffs with pitching or just an overall team performance throughout each series. Reminded me of the Cardinals when they faced the Tigers in the WS 3/4 years ago. It was absolutely ridiculous because they won what, 83 games that year and got in because their division was horrible? But they won it all surprisingly, and with pitching.
