Although UM actually began in January 1987, today marks the 20th anniversary of its debut as a regular weekly series. The date was Wednesday, September 14, 1988.
It is briefly mentioned at this link.

I still remember this show being on when I was in elementary school and watching it with my dad. :rip: to Robert Stack.

Wow according to that article, today was a great day. One of my favorite bands of all time "The Who" started the process of writing "Tommy", one of my favorite albums.
The Golden Girls premiered, one of my sinful pleasures in life.
And of course Unsolved Mysteries. I think UM may be the reason I remember alot of my childhood with a dark tint to my memories (even though I had a remarkably happy childhood).

Geez, if turning 41 on 9/15 didn't make me feel old, then this REALLY does! I had no idea UM was that old!

Is it my ascerbic, old world, Sophia Patrillo like humor that gave it away?
Best Sophia line ever:
Dorothy: Ma, do you remember Helen Kolquist?
Sophia: Was she that tremendously fat woman with a wooden leg and a totally hairless cat named Cincinnati Jake?
Dorothy: No.
Sophia: Then I don’t remember.
Back around 2004 Lifetime was my favorite in the morning because i would get an hour of Golden Girls and then follow it up with Unsolved Mysteries.
