View Full Version : Roberta Shore
TVDude78 09-13-2008, 09:43 PM [B]I always had a crush on actress Roberta Shore who appeared in Several episodes of O&H. She seemed like a really sweet and down to earth girl, not to mention what a cutie. Funny thing is I'm only 30 and she is about 60 something now. I took notice of her as a kid and never forgot her. She had a great singing voice too.
She did a lot of Disney projects, one of which was the 1959 classic The Shaggy Dog.
She also starred as Judge Garth's daughter Betsy on the Virginian for the first 3 or 4 seasons.
She had dropped out of site for decades till recently I saw her do a interview and a commentary for the Shaggy Dog DVD release back about 2 years ago. She has aged, but she seems like the same sweet person she always was.
I enjoyed her appearances on O&H. She could have been a regular.B]
ullmanndb 09-13-2008, 11:47 PM I know what you mean about crushes that are a little time-warped! I'm 43, but I've always felt that I was born too late. How I'd love to have been able to date some of the cuties back in the day! ;)

I'm going to go back and watch an ep or two with her in it!
honeybea 09-14-2008, 12:04 PM I just watched an episode with her last night! I remember her well from The Mickey Mouse Club days on the series "Annette". She was a snob in that series but a great actress. She's still beautiful in the photos I've seen of her.
TVDude78 09-14-2008, 04:25 PM I remember watching that series as a kid on the Disney Channel. I had a crush on Annette too. She played the rich girl who accuses Annette of stealing her necklace or something. I remember Shelley Fabares in it too. She was another crush.
Annette & Shelley became best friends and are still to this day.
Shelley was excellent on the Donna Reed show. That is another show that needs to be back on the air as well as DVD. I know season 1 is coming soon.

Which one Honeybea?
TVDude78 09-14-2008, 10:29 PM I watched some episodes with her over the past several days. They were:
Rick and The Maid of Honor.
A Sweater For Rick.
A Question of Suits and Ties.

Thanks - now I remember. Rick also had Cheryl Holdridge as a gal pal in some eps too.

It's OK - I've had a huge crush on Gregory Sierra since I first saw Barney Miller on DVD in 2006. He's got to be about 40 years older than me, but who cares?? Almost as well documented here at SO is Lauren's (aka Lulu Rogers) crush on Wayne Rogers of M*A*S*H. So you are not alone!!! :D

I'll never forget Cheryl Holdridge's guest spot on the first season on Bewitched. I loved it when she walked in the Stephens' kitchen in a strapless dress and heels.
Darrin: I'll be with you as soon as I finish my legs - eggs.
 :brent

A sweater for Rick. Now I'm trying to remember other episodes she was in. I believe she was in Rick And The Bridesmaid among others.
desilu #1 09-15-2008, 03:10 PM Speaking of crushes and feeling like you were born at the wrong time, I'm totally in love with Desi Arnaz, Hugh Beaumont and now I think Ozzie is kind of charming too. I see the men from the 50's and 60's and it causes me to want to throw rocks at the men today. LOL! No offense, but the men of today just don't have the charm that the men back then had. I'm not talking about just looks either.
Janine the Dream 09-15-2008, 03:32 PM They portrayed true family men where today most of the men on tv have no real time to spend with their family. Robert Young was another example of a great tv father as was Carl Betz.

And she was Rick's girlfriend (sort of) in my favorite Adv. O & H ep of all time "The Fraternity Pin". I so  this show!!!! (Oh and yes BTW Cheryl was great in that Bewitched ep - was nice to see her in this too - my other fav show)
catlover79 09-16-2008, 10:54 PM Here are a couple of screen captures of her on Bewitched. (Her boyfriend Monster was hilarious.) She also played one of Wally's girlfriends on Leave it to Beaver.
