We've finally reached the point on the DVDs where Lowell leaves Nantucket. What are your thoughts on Lowell's final episode as well as his impact on the show.

Lowell is my favorite character. However, when I've been watching the show on DVD, I've come to see that he is a supporting player. As long as you have Joe, Brian, Helen and even Roy you have a show.

I don't know if this is a coincindence, or if it's due to Lowell's leaving. But after he left, the other characters seemed to get sillier.

I wish they would have kept Budd and given him more airtime. He really wasn't given much of a chance to succeed.

As for Lowell's last episode, I love it. He loved his life on Nantucket and his job. So no explanation for his leaving would have made sense.

I think it's awful that none of the DVD's have included Roy and Fay on the front covers. Both were on the show longer than Alex, Casey, and even Antonio and Lowell.

I won't bother with my "the show got worse after Lowell left" rant. It's almost as bad as Helen's "All the good men are married or gay" rant ;) (Actually, I use that rant quite a bit myself. I'm like the female Antonio.)
