Charlotte guested on a second season episode of Barney Miller entitled "The Sniper". Original airdate - January 22, 1976. Here's a synopsis:

A con man is selling charter flights to Saturn; Wojo and Luger are sniper targets.

Charlotte's character is the wife being taken in by the con man.

Sobol: My name is Stuart Sobol. I'm having a little problem with my wife.
Fish: Over here, Mr. Sobol.
Barney: This is Sergeant Fish. He'll help you.
Sobol: Thank you. Is that your department?
Fish: Yeah. I started in homicide and worked my way up. What seems to be the trouble with your wife?
Sobol: She moved out of the house.
Fish: And the problem?


Of course, not too long after she won the role of Mrs. G on Diff'rent Strokes, moved on to FOL, and the rest is history. :D

Thanks for sharing the picture, Monika. I've heard you talk a lot about Barney Miller and I'm a little curious about the show as a result. Well, also my dad watched it during the 70's and he has mentioned it a few times.

Charlotte Rae was in this movie our history class watched junior year. I forgot the name of it but it was an old black and white movie and she was on there (I knew it was her by her hairdo and voice). I was like "OMG, it's Mrs. Garrett!" and everyone looked at me like WTF lol :lol: .
