Who do you perfer, Elton John or Billy Joel? This is a tough one because both of these men are legendary and have turned out a lot of great music. I think I am going to go with Elton though. During the first half of the seventies he reached a leval of greatness that few ever achieve. I have to say though that Billy comes across as a nicer man.

Billy Joel by far. I don't think there is a song that I have heard from him that I didn't like. :)

I like a lot of Elton's songs, but I have to go with Billy Joel here. I DID see them both perform together in Cleveland about 5 years ago, and the show was awesome. Those two put a lot of "current" acts to shame.

I concur. Sir Elton John is one of the best performers ever.

Oh man is that hard!!! Those are my two favorite artists... I'm even listening to Elton right now. ;)

Despite my immense love for Billy Joel, my marching band even had a Billy Joel/Movin' Out show one year, I have to vote for Elton. Every single song I've heard from Elton I have loved, where as for Billy I do love a ton of his songs but there are few that just don't strike me.

Me too! Elton is awesome in concert! I saw him at Madison Square Garden back in 1982, and it was wonderful! My dad was a huge fan of Elton John!

Elton is really kicking Billy's butt in this poll. I thought that it would be the other way around.

You should of had an option on the poll for Both- cause I like both. I like a lot of Elton Songs but the BJ songs I like are really good and are catchy, good tunes. Both are classic, great acts and respectable men.

I like both too. The poll is to pick which one you like better. :)

^ Great Song. I love- I'm Moving Out by Billy Joel lol. Who needs a place out in Hackensack? Is that all you get for your money lol.

Sorry Seems to Be The Hardest Word is such an excellent song by Elton, the music to it is bananas and excellent and it kind of tears me up everytime I hear it lol.

When I saw the duo in concert, that was the final song of the evening. My favorite part was when Elton called out: "You're a pretty good crowd - for a Tuesday!" :D

both are great, but I'll give Elton the edge for being consistant for longer. It's been fifteen years since Billy's last album. I think "The Stranger" and "Glass Houses" are better albums as a whole than anything Elton's released, but Elton's stayed consistant for a longer time IMO and has had a lot of great songs this decade.
