I have been a fan of Patrick's since 1985, when I first saw him in "Heaven Help Us". It wasn't a well-known movie but it's absolutely hilarious! It's about these boys in a boys Catholic school and if you want to see a very young Patrick Dempsey it's worth a look. It also stars Donald Sutherland, John Heard, Andrew McCarthy and Kevin Dillon (Matt Dillon's brother).
Another movie I love him in is "Can't Buy Me Love". I think that was his first staring role. He plays this nerdy guy infatuated with the most popular girl in school. He has saved up $1000to buy this telescope and instead he pays her the $1000 to pretend to be his girlfriend for a month. It's REALLY good; touching and hilarious!
Coupe De Ville is another good one. He and his brothers are summoned by their dad to pick up this car and drive it across the state to give it to him. Very funny and touching. Great music!
I also love the movie he made with Kimberly Williams (from According to Jim) called "Lucky Seven". I think that was a TV movie. Maybe based on a book?
I just got "Enchanted" from Netflix and I'm also dying to see "Made of Honor".
SO.... any Patrick Dempsey movies to recommend?
