Chapter 1

John absolutely hated this part of his job as a San Francisco Police Officer, the actual arresting. They always ran and caused trouble in general. This one was going to be extra tough the guy had kids. Rob Meyers may be wanted for kidnapping, but it was his twelve-year-old son and seven-year-old daughter who were going to pay. He thought well here goes nothing, as he knocked.

John: SFPD, open up.

He couldn't believe who opened the door, Rob Meyers was not Rob Meyers, Rob Meyers was Jake Mitchel. John immediately recognized the boy standing directly behind him. The boy was a male version of a twelve-year-old Jinny, but it couldn't be Ryan was dead. His suspicions were however confirmed when Ryan launched himself into John's arms crying.

Ryan: Uncle John, Uncle John!

John: Ryan is that really you, buddy?

Ryan: I finally get to go home! Please, Uncle John take me to where Mommy is, please!

John couldn't help to think I have to call Casey. There was no way that he could tell Jinny that the baby she had mourned was alive and well. Casey could, they were close. So, he pulled out his cell phone and started to call, while his partner cuffed Jake. He would worry about killing Jake for hurting his sister later, right now he just had to get in touch with Casey, so that he could get Ryan home where he belonged

Casey cell phone started ringing; it was his brother John. Casey had no way to know that this call would change his life forever, and that of the person that he loved most in this world, his big sister Jinny.

Casey: Hello

John: Casey, it's me John.

Casey: John what's wrong, you don't sound so good?

John: Casey, I'm on my way over. I need your help; you're never going to guess who's sitting next to me.

John went and met Casey. When he saw Ryan he just looked at John.

Casey: John, is that...
John: Yeah, this is Ryan.
Casey: Does Jinny know?
John: Not yet, you need to tell her. I can't.
Casey: Why do I need to tell her, what about you?
John: Casey, your so much closer to her than I am. You have to tell her.
Casey: Fine.

John left Ryan with Casey and went back to work. Casey decided to Call Jinny....

Hello, I just wanted to let you know that the next part is written, but I have been having computer trouble since last night. I hope to get it uploaded tonight, or at the latest the wee hours of tomorrow morning.

Chapter 2

Casey was getting exasperated; he’d been trying to call Jinny for two whole hours without any luck. He was just going to have to go over to the station, Ryan was already ready to walk if necessary to get to his mom, and so waiting for Jinny to pick up her phone was out of the question.

Casey walked into the station with Ryan and went straight to the Captain’s office, but before he could tell her exactly what was going on Jinny walked in to the station. Casey told Ryan to wait a second that Uncle Casey had to do something real quick, and that no matter what he was not to leave that office until told to do so.

The Captain had no idea what was going on so she just started to talk to the boy that Casey had sat down in her office, he must be one of John’s; he’s called Casey, Uncle Casey.

Ryan: Where did my Uncle Casey go?
Kate: I guess he had to talk to Jinny.

Ryan: What, Jinny Exstead is here!

With that, the young boy bolted out of his chair and out of her office.

Casey: Jin

Jinny: Hey, Case. What are you doing here?

Casey: Jinny I need for you to sit down, there is something that I have to tell you.

At the exact same time the Captains door flew open, and there stood her baby. She opened her arms and seconds later she was twirling around with him in her arms, both of them sobbing. She didn’t know how this was possible nor did she care, all that mattered was that her baby was in her arms again. Everything was going to be different now, Ryan was home.

Jinny looked at Casey.

Jinny: Casey how, who?
Casey: John. I don't know how, all I know is that he found him and told me to tell you.
Jinny: I don't believe this, I thought well, I thought he was.
Casey: Jin shut up, the point now is he's not.

CD and Angela both walked into the station. They both saw Jinny crying, she had a little boy standing next to her crying and Casey was standing there too.

CD: Casey hey, what's up with the sobbing?
Casey: Uh, I think Jinny will tell you later.
CD: okay.

Mag walked in and saw the mini Jinny standing there, she looked and gasped and gave Jinny one of those 'Is that who I think it is???' looks. Jinny just nodded yes to her.

Yeah, so I know that sucked...but You can go now!

It was really good, here's the next part.

Chapter 3

Magda just stood there staring. CD, Angela, and the Captain were losing all patience.

CD: Okay, I’d like to know, who this is; why Jinny is crying; and why Magda looks shocked and hasn’t spoken a word since saying is that?

Jinny: This is Ryan Theodore Mitchel.

Ryan: No, Mommy. I’m Ryan Theodore Exstead. I don’t want anything that has to do with the man that separated us.

CD: Mommy?

Jinny: Yes, CD. CD, Angela, Captain, Magda I’d like for you to meet my twelve year old son, Ryan. Ryan, these is my commanding officer Captain Kate McCafferty; and these are my coworkers CD DeLorenzo and Angela Reid; and this is my best friend Magda Ramirez.

Magda: Hi, Ryan. Your mom’s told me a lot about you.

Kate just stared. She never thought that Jinny would have a long lost son.

Ryan: Well, what she could anyway. She didn't know me for that long.

CD: Hey Ryan. Nice to meet ya.
Angela: Same here.

Jinny could tell that everyone but Mag was in shock. Maybe she should've told them earlier, but she didn't.

Chapter 4

Kate: Jinny, do you want to explain?

CD: Yeah, Jin I want to hear this.

Ryan: Wait.

Angela: Ryan, hold on a second okay.

Jinny: No, not okay. What is it sweetie?

Ryan: Mom, I know that Jake separated us...

Jinny: Yes.

Ryan: But, why didn’t you come for me?

Jinny: Captain, can we borrow your office? I know that you all want and deserve explanations, but Ryan comes first and he needs to know what happened. I promise that I’ll explain everything, just let me talk to him first.

Kate: Sure, Jinny.

Jinny and Ryan go into the Captain’s office.

Jinny: Ryan, I didn’t go and get you because, I didn’t know that, that was an option?

Ryan: Huh?

Jinny: When you were three years old, you caught pneumonia. Your Dad...

Ryan: Jake.

Jinny: Jake and I took you to the hospital, three days later you got very sick. The doctors went in to see you, and came out saying that they regretted to inform us that you had stopped breathing, and all subsequent efforts to revive you were unsuccessful. Jake and I didn’t last after that. I fell apart, when I thought that I’d lost you; I started drinking and other things. If it hadn’t been for your Uncle Casey, I don’t know what would have happened. If I had known, I would have gone for you.

Ryan sits down on Jinny’s lap. She puts her arms around him, as they both just cry the tears that had been held in for nine years.

Outside of the captain’s office, Magda is on the receiving end of three sets of staring eyes.

CD: Spill it.

Magda: What?

Angela: You know what.

Magda: No, I don’t.

Kate: His mom has told you a lot about him?

Magda: Okay, I’ll tell you what I know. Casey I’m going to need your help, and Jinny can fill in any blanks.

Casey: Okay, you get to start this wonderful trip down memory lane.
Mag: Thanks Casey. Well I guess, as to what Jin's told me...she got pregnant at age seventeen. This guy, Jake was the kids dad. So they got married, and Jinny had the baby. They were happy. *She looked at Casey*
Casey: Well, then when Ryan was three, he got pnumonia (SP) and then three days later Ryan got really sick and stopped breathing. The doctors told them that through all their efforts to revive him, nothing worked. Jin lost it and that's when her and Jake broke up. I don't know anymore, you'll have to ask Jinny.
Mag: Same. I went as far as Jin told me.

CD, Angela, and Kate just stared at each other, they had no clue that anything like this had happened to Jinny.

Jinny: That's all I know. At this moment, all I want to know. Today, I'm going to enjoy my baby, tomorrow I'm going to kill Jake.

Magda: You shouldn't say that in front of Ryan.

Ryan: I wanted to help, but she doesn't want me to view the blood shed.

Kate: Jinny, go home, get reacquaitened with your son.

Jinny's voice cracks.

Jinny: Thanks, Cap.

Jinny and Ryan start to head out.

Kate: Exstead, meet us at Anchorside for dinner, we want to get to know this young man.

Jinny: Will do, we'll be there at seven.

Everyone goes to Anchorside to wait for Jinny and Ryan. At seven sharp, they're there. Kate can't believe in Jinny had never been on time in her life.

Jinny: Hey, guys.

Angela: Hey, Jin.

Jinny: Mag, where's Ben?

Magda: The way I saw it, Ryan's had an overwhelming day, I didn't want to add yet another new face so I left Benjamin with Gabriel.

CD: So, Ryan what do you think of our little hang out?

Ryan: It's okay. I wish we were at home mommy's an amazing cook, I kind of wanted some home cooking.

CD looks at Jinny.

CD: You cook?

Jinny: Yes.

At this moment the waiter shows up, it's Jinny's regular bartender.

Waiter: Hey, Jin. Jack Daniels right.

Jinny: Wrong. I'll have a Brandy.

Kate felt bad, Ryan was going to see his mom drunk. An hour later she was amazed. Jinny's glass was empty when the waiter returned.

Waiter: Jin, let me fill her up.

Jinny: No, I'll have a coke instead.

Waiter: Roman Coke coming up?

Jinny: No, a regular coke.

Waiter: Jinny, you've only had one?

Jinny: I know, and one is my daily limit.

Magda, CD, Angela, and Kate's jaws dropped. Ryan just kept on eating.

Magda: Me too.

Jinny: Well, we've got to go.

Angela: Why?

Ryan: Mommy's taking me a ball game tomorrow.

Jinny: Why don't you guys come over on Sunday? We'll have a barbarque, I'll cook and Ryan can meet Ben.

Kate: We'll be there.

Jinny and Ryan left. The others toasted to a new Jinny.

He's twelve. I know that most twelve year old boys don't use mommy, but Ryan fits the title since birth he was mama's boy. He was separated from her at age three which also influences some of his behavior.

On Sunday afternoon, they arrived at Jinny's dad's house. What they saw amazed them. Jinny was laughing and playing like a little kid. Ryan and Jinny had water guns and she was soaked but happier than they'd ever seen her. She hadn't even had a drink. It was amazing fun happy Jinny, without the influence of alcohol.
