i just watched the Home Movies eps where fred lucy and ethel make a movie and mix it with rickys to show to the talent scout. anyway they make the western and they are talking about the set that lucy drew. lucy makes a statement that they look almost real and fred...looking at the picture of the bartender says

"I've had my moments where real people look like that"

was he referring to his drinking habit?

Most people Freds age have seen some drunk people in their lifetime. :crazy: I would't read more into it than that.

it makes sense to me though. we all know that william had a drinking problem....

You never can tell. Lucy herself said that Bill was a carbon copy of Fred Mertz so they may have put a jab in the writing to reference him!:lol:

too, in the eps The Diner, when the foursome are looking through the classified ads as to what busines to get into, rickey is reading the options out loud and one of them is a cocktail bar and ethel abruptley exclaims NO before fred could say something.
