I'm trying to remember a case which would've been on UM in the early 90s. Maybe.

Girl breaks up with boyfriend who then goes psycho. Girl begins dating again and while on a date with someone, she and her date are attacked by the ex in Girl's home. Date is killed, girl is severely injured, ex is on the run. Enter UM.

Anyone else remember this?

Yep, still wondering how he got into her room the next morning, methinks she set the whole thing up with him.

This isn't the Mafous Huck, Christie Mutzfeld, and Todd Kelly case is it? Christie was supposedly already gone when Mafous struck and he didn't injure her, so I think it's not the one they're talking about.

That definitely doesn't sound like that case to me. Christie wasn't injured at all.

I would have said the Richard Church segment, since the ex-girlfriend Colleen Ritter survived the attack (as did her brother and a friend of his). However, since the breakup had only occurred recently, she obviously hadn't acquired a new boyfriend yet. In fact, the ones who died in the attack were her parents.

So unless any of the details we received were inaccurate, the Richard Church segment would have to be ruled out, also.

Probably something the original poster saw on AMW or some other such program and is confusing with UM.

I was never much of a viewer of AMW, so that's not it. It wasn't Richard Church either -- I'm from Illinois and I remember that case.

All I can remember from the reinactment is that the ex was in the house (or right by the front door) when the girl came home from her date and when they came to the front door they were attacked. I think it might have been in California.

Were they white or black?

White.

So how did he hurt them? Shooting? Stabbing? Bludgeoning?

You know, my first instinct is to say they were stabbed, but they may have been shot. I really don't remember.
