::The Division::

Jinny comes in late...and somewhat hung over as usual. Kate walks out of her office.

"Exstead, I need you in my office, now." Kate said sternly.

"Yeah, yeah..." Jinny replys and reluctantly walks into Kate's office and sits down.

"Jinny... this is the fourth time this week you've been late!" Kate complains.

"Yeah, Cap, I know." says Jinny.

"Do you have an explanation this time?" Cap asks.

"I...was um...with my dad. He's not doing very well." Jinny tries to explain. "he needed me to stay with him last night."

"And you were drinking while you were taking care of him?" Kate questions with a mad look on her face.

"I wasn't drinking!" Jinny exclaims.

"All right, Exstead. This is the last time...if your late tomorrow that's it. Your out." Kate tells her.

Jinny got up and walked back to her desk and sat down in her chair. She leaned back and breathed in deep. She knew she didn't need to be late tomorrow... and she didn't like lying to Cap. She knew Cap didn't believe her... she knew she had spent most of her night at the bar. And she did, she just wouldn't admit it. Jinny sighed and looked around.

"Hey Jin...what's wrong?" Magda asked her as she rolled her chair closer to her.

"Nothing. Cap's on my case...again." Jinny said.

"This is the fourth time you've been late...this week!" Magda said.

"Thanks for pointing that out." Jinny said sarcastically.

Cap came out of her office with a file.

"Ramirez, Exstead...a 14 year old, Emalee* Jordan, her parents were giving her alcohol." Cap said as she threw the file on Jinny's desk.

"Were?" Magda questioned.

"They were murdered." Cap said as she walked back into her office.

Here's some more... I hope it's not too bad...

Jinny and Magda pulled up at Emalee's house. They knocked on the door but nobody answered. They knocked again, waited, and decided to go in. Jinny opened the door and walked in with Magda close behind her. There were empty alcohol bottles scattered everywhere, not to mention some weren't empty... They went to the back of the house into a bedroom. There were some cops there. They were bagging up a gun and the parents...

"Hey Steven...what happened?" Jinny asked.

"They were shot. Both of them...with that gun." Steven said as he pointed to the gun in a bag.

"Any witnesses? Neighbors? Anything?" Magda asked.

"Not that I know of. The little girl said she was upstairs when she heard gunshots. She came down and found her parents." He said.

"How long have they been dead?" Jinny questioned as she looked around the room.

"Oh...I'd say since about 7 this morning."

"She waited a while to call it in, didn't she?" said Magda.

"Yeah, really...they've been dead for 4 hours." Jinny said and rolled her eyes.

"Where's Emalee? Their daughter?" Mag asked.

"She's upstairs...third door on your right." An officer said as he passed by and walked out the door.

Magda and Jinny went out of the room and looked around the house a little.

"This place is a mess." Magda exclaimed and ran her finger along a table and picked up dust on it. She rubbed her hands together to remove the dust and they proceded upstairs.

I had that nut case after me... yeah, I had to make a little list, of all the guys that I've slept with in the last two years. I couldn't remember some of their names.

Teddy: Stop.

Jinny: Ya know what? THIS IS WHO I AM, THIS IS MY FAMILY!!!! Come on, it's your turn. You go ahead, flash that all-American, prep school, choir boy smile and you tell me that it doesn't matter... it doesn't change anything... Yeah, that's what I thought!

The Dana parts Real... The rest i stuck in there for fun.

I would have posted more a hell of alot sooner, but as some of you know...I was grounded. Here's more:

They came up to the door and knocked.

"Go away!" Emalee yelled.

"SFPD...Emalee we need to ask you some questions." Jinny said as she pushed open the door.

Emalee was sitting on her bed crying. There were some empty liquor bottles in her room too. Jinny and Magda walked in and Jinny took out her notebook.

"I'm Inspector Exstead and this is Inspector Ramirez. We need to ask you about this morning." Jinny said.

Emalee sat there, staring at the wall.

"Emalee, we need to know what happened." Magda said.

"I don't know. I was up here when I heard somebody shoot a gun." Emalee said as she kept crying.

"What time was it when you heard the gun?" Jinny questioned.

"Around 7...maybe a little before." Emalee said and grabbed a tissue.

Jinny wrote down some notes in her notebook and looked around a little bit. This reminded her of her apartment... and what her house looked like when she was a kid. The only thing different was both of this girls parents were killed. Jinny knew what she was going through, but she didn't want to say anything about it.

"So...um Emalee..." Jinny said as she snapped back into reality. "Do you have any idea who would want to...kill your parents?"

"No!" Emalee yelled and burst into tears.

Magda glared at Jinny and said, "Emalee...we'll be back later to ask you some more questions."

With that, they left the house and went back to the Division.

I would have posted sooner, but I haven't been home in the past four days.

Back at the Division, Jinny and Magda had walked into Cap's office. Jinny was leaning against the door and Magda was sitting in the chair infront of her.

"What did you find out?" Cap asked them.

"Her parents were murdered." Jinny said with an attitude.

"Yes, Jinny. Thank you." Cap said as she glared at Jinny.

"She doesn't know what happened. She said she was upstairs when it happened." Mag explained.

"All right then." Cap said as she leaned back and sighed.

"We're gonna question her later." Jinny said.

Kate nodded and Jinny and Magda went back to their desks to work on their paperwork.

A couple of hours had passed. Jin and Mag had eaten lunch and they were ready to start the questioning again. They drove back to Emalee's house to find her sitting on the couch half-drunk by herself.

"Why is she here by herself?" Jinny wispered to Magda.

"I don't know..." Magda said with a confused look on her face.

Jinny went over to Emalee and sat beside her and said, "Emalee, you have to find somebody you can stay with for a couple of days while we get this straightened out."

"I can stay here by myself." Emalee said very seriously.

"Do you have a friend or a relative that lives near by?" Magda asked.

"I told you I can stay here by myself!" Emalee yelled and stood up.

The door opened and a girl that was taller that Emalee walked in and ran up to her.

"Oh my God! Emalee... I'm so sorry..." The girl said as she gave Emalee a quick hug and sat down.

"Hey...um I'm Inspector Exstead." Jinny said as Magda quickly cut her off.

"And I'm Inspector Ramirez."

"Hi, I'm Jessica. I live down the street. I go to school with Emalee." Jessica said, looking a little nervous.

Hm, I wonder whos charecter Jessica is based on.... DId I mention an olf Best Freind of mine was names Jessica? more please!

I don't know how much more I'm gonna be able to post on this because school has started and I have limited time on the internet, so it will probably take me forever to finish this...to those of you who are actually reading/liking this...

Jinny and Magda continued the questioning...

"Jessica...where were you when this happened?" Magda asked her.

"I was at home...asleep. I didn't hear anything." Jessica said.

"All right. Emalee, do you know who would want to do this?" Jinny asked as she wrote in her notebook.

"No...my parents were friends with just about everybody." Emalee said as she sighed and looked at the floor.

"Like we said before...you need some one to stay with. Atleast for a couple of days." Magda said.

"She can stay with me!" Jessica exclaimed.

"I don't want to stay with you! Your parents hate me!" Emalee yelled.

"No they don't...they just...you can stay with me."

"Emalee...you either stay with her or you go to an orphanage." Jinny stated.

"Fine. I'll stay with her." Emalee finally said after a long pause.

Emalee went upstairs to pack her things. She came came back down about 15 minutes later. They all got in the car and dropped them off at Jessica's house. Jinny and Magda left her house and started to drive back to the Division. Magda noticed the disturbed look on Jinny's face.

"Something bothering you?" Magda asked, obviously confused.

"It's just that...nevermind." Jinny said.

"All right." Magda replied as she shrugged her shoulders, still confused.

Jinny kept thinking about how Emalee reminded her of herself when she was her age. How she started drinking when she was just a little younger. She was sure Emalee had started drinking when she was younger too. 'Sad' she thought to herself. Magda broke the silence.

"You sure you don't wanna talk?"

"If I wanted to talk, I would. OK?" Jinny snapped.
