View Full Version : Remember Scott Baio's afterschool specials from the 80s? 88survivor 09-02-2008, 03:43 PM He did some for ABC, one for CBS, and one for HBO. http://hk.youtube.com/watch?v=qd4RbB67g-w TJL 09-02-2008, 03:55 PM I remember The Boy Who Drank Too Much. Oh Scott Baio, why didn't I heed your warnings? ;) catlover79 09-02-2008, 04:09 PM Sadly, I do.  88survivor 09-03-2008, 05:05 PM He almost sounded Jewish when he said, "A stinking drunk like youuu!" That is the only time you heard a tremble in his voice. To think that Scott's specials dealt with five issues....a drinking problem(The Boy Who Drank Too Much), a drug forming habit(Stoned), drinking and driving(All The Kids Do It), a wheel chair bounded cripple in the same denial as the girl he befriends(Run, Don't Walk), and finally accepting that your best friend is gay(The Truth About Alex).......he did it all. He was king of the afterschool specials, wasn't he? catlover79 09-03-2008, 09:44 PM ^ He didn't become a teen father, so he's not quite there. Rob Lowe did instead.  88survivor 09-03-2008, 11:01 PM Yep. He gave Scott the drinking and drug habits instead.....Rob Lowe got the teen father part instead. catlover79 09-03-2008, 11:41 PM When I was an elementary school student in the late 1980s/early 1990s, some of these after school specials were shown in class. I didn't realize how truly cheesy and corny they were until I became a teenager. 88survivor 09-04-2008, 08:54 PM Gotta love the 80s. This is the first time Scott Baio been bitch-slapped. Scott was hard-core like a punk when he was speaking back to that actor. |
