DSfan 08-29-2008, 04:27 PM They got rid of a lot of sitcoms and replaced them with game shows that we can find elsewhere, ughh.
Also, who will be watching Frasier at 8am?
Thanks for the update, I've been looking everyday at their website to try and see what the changes would be and saw so many TBD's lol
Jude The Obscure 08-29-2008, 04:42 PM Another station adding Steve Harvey (or keeping the show on)--this is not a slam, but what is the fascination all of sudden with this sitcom getting a new life in syndication? some new cheap barter rate?
JulieSomoski 08-29-2008, 04:54 PM Another station adding Steve Harvey (or keeping the show on)--this is not a slam, but what is the fascination all of sudden with this sitcom getting a new life in syndication? some new cheap barter rate?
Yeah, I don't understand it either. I'm a moderate fan of Steve Harvey, but the show has been airing a lot this year. It must be cheap, because I don't seen another reason for it being on this much.
Pavan 08-29-2008, 05:24 PM Remember WPCH is a local channel (not national) and many local channels still air Steve Harvey. TBS national airs the show, too, remember?
Jude The Obscure 08-29-2008, 06:32 PM But doesn't Peachtree also air in Canada?
All my comment was that it seems to be a lot of Steve Harvey everywhere.
ION picked it up a few months ago and BET recently added it as well.
Pavan 08-29-2008, 07:59 PM I don't understand why Canada is airing PeachTree TV because they should be airing TBS now. PeachTree TV is catered for Atlanta.
Yeah, but Jude those are national channels that nearly all markets get. ION is a national broadcast channel and BET is a national cable channel. PeachTree TV is just for Atlanta (and for some reason some parts of Canada). There are other locals airing Harvey as well.
Jude The Obscure 08-29-2008, 08:22 PM I understand that, Pav.....It just seems Steve Harvey is showing up a lot more lately, that was simply my point :)
JulieSomoski 08-29-2008, 08:47 PM I understand that, Pav.....It just seems Steve Harvey is showing up a lot more lately, that was simply my point :)
I wish I got PeachTree instead of the regular TBS schedule - it sounds a whole lot better.
DSfan 08-29-2008, 11:13 PM I think Canada has Peachtree because they were unaware of the change initially when it went from TBS National to WTBS and then could not get the rights or something. For some reason, they do not want us Canadians to have TBS, TNT, or USA.
KrisMunroe 08-30-2008, 10:02 PM I thought Peachtree was going to air House of Payne this fall. Not that I am eager to watch it.
DSfan 08-31-2008, 12:48 PM I thought that as well. Although, all it was said was Peachtree would have the rights to air it, so maybe they are just waiting for a good moment or something.
Pavan 09-01-2008, 04:23 PM House of Payne is coming. It was not listed originally, but it will air 7-8pm starting Sept. 22.
DSfan 09-01-2008, 05:24 PM Nice...so then where does that leave Family Guy?
Pavan 09-01-2008, 06:45 PM 10-11PM or whenever the movie/sport ends.
DSfan 09-01-2008, 07:09 PM I would think that's a risky move, Family Guy is very popular and House of Payne should be the show in the 10-11 slot but since I don't like Family Guy, I'm happy lol.

ATLANTA, GA -- Tyler Perry’s HOUSE OF PAYNE, which ranks as ad-supported cable’s #1 sitcom of all time and television’s #1 summer series among African-American adults 18-49, is coming in syndication to Peachtree TV, beginning Wednesday, Sept. 24. The comedy about multiple generations of one Atlanta family living under the same roof will air six days a week, Mondays through Saturdays, with back-to-back episodes at 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
HOUSE OF PAYNE joins several other series that are new to Peachtree TV this fall, including the long-running game show FAMILY FEUD (weekdays at noon and 12:30 p.m., beginning Sept. 8). FAMILY FEUD has been extremely popular in Atlanta and is moving to Peachtree TV as the show’s exclusive home in this market. Peachtree TV also will be home to the all-new audience-participation game show TRIVIAL PURSUIT: AMERICA PLAYS (weekdays at 1 p.m. and 1:30 p.m., beginning Sept. 22) and the hit reality series AMERICAN CHOPPER (Saturdays at 5 p.m., beginning Sept. 27).
“The arrival of Tyler Perry’s HOUSE OF PAYNE on Peachtree TV marks a real homecoming for the show, given that it is set and produced in Atlanta,” said Monica Neal, vice president and station manager for Peachtree TV. “HOUSE OF PAYNE is going into national syndication, and we are thrilled to make Peachtree TV its Atlanta home. The popular comedy series, along with two outstanding game shows and the exciting reality series AMERICAN CHOPPPER, add to a standout fall lineup that will push Peachtree TV to even greater success.”
Tyler Perry’s HOUSE OF PAYNE – Monday-Saturday at 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., beginning Sept. 24
This multigenerational sitcom features LaVan Davis as fireman Curtis “Pops” Payne, a man who believes his house should be his castle, he the king and his wife, Ella (Cassi Davis), the queen. Unfortunately, their castle has turned into Grand Central Terminal thanks to one son and his family moving in and another son spending much of his time mooching off his parents. Allen Payne, Lance Gross, Demetria McKinney, Larramie Doc Shaw and China McClain co-star.
The series premiered on TBS in June 2007 with ad-supported cable’s #1 sitcom telecast of all time among key adult demos, households and viewers. By the end of last summer, it was television’s #1 show among African-American adults 18-49, a feat it repeated this summer. It now ranks as ad-supported cable’s #1 original sitcom of all time among adults 18-49. Tyler Perry serves as director, executive producer and writer on the show.
Earlier this year, Tyler Perry’s HOUSE OF PAYNE took home three NAACP Image Awards, including Best Comedy Series, Best Actor in a Comedy Series (LaVan Davis) and Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series (Lance Gross). The series comes to Peachtree TV from Debmar-Mercury.
FAMILY FEUD – Weekdays at noon and 12:30 p.m., beginning Sept. 8
With its opening refrain of “On your marks, let’s start the Family Feud,” this long running, family-oriented game show is back. Hosted by television personality John O’Hurley, this is a fast-paced game show that pits two families against one another in a contest to name the most popular responses to survey-type questions posed to a 100 people.
FAMILY FEUD is produced by Fremantle Media, Tribune Entertainment, Feudin’ Productions and Mark Goodson Productions LLC and comes to Peachtree TV from The Fremantle Corporation.
TRIVIAL PURSUIT: AMERICA PLAYS – Weekdays at 1 p.m. and 1:30 p.m., beginning Sept. 22
This game show, based on the highly popular Hasbro board game, challenges the audience to submit Trivial Pursuit questions via online video downloads, enabling them to become eligible to win money if their question is selected and stumps the in-studio competitor. TRIVIAL PURSUIT is produced by Wheeler-Sussman Productions and comes to Peachtree TV from Debmar-Mercury.
AMERICAN CHOPPER – Saturdays at 5 p.m., beginning Sept. 27
Mike Rowe hosts this highly popular reality series about the goings-on behind the scenes at Orange County Choppers, a custom motorcycle fabrication company located in Montgomery, N.Y. The series is also a study of the interplay between the Teutels – Paul Sr. and Jr. – and the stress that both experience when creating motorcycles as works of art. AMERICAN CHOPPER is produced by Pilgrim Films & Television and comes to Peachtree TV from Artisan Entertainment.

I think Canada has Peachtree because they were unaware of the change initially when it went from TBS National to WTBS and then could not get the rights or something. For some reason, they do not want us Canadians to have TBS, TNT, or USA.
I think it's because Ted Turner's still pissed over Toronto beating Atlanta in the World Series in 1992. So this is his way of punishing us.
clarkkent 09-02-2008, 02:58 PM I live in New York and wish I had Peachtree. I read that they're adding both South Central and Where I live - 2 shows I loved watching when I was a teenager. Why can't they have shows like this here in NY instead of the same junk for years and years that never end (like Friends and King of Queens to name a few). PLEASE RELEASE THESE GREAT SHORT LIVED SHOWS ON DVD SO I CAN SEE THEM AGAIN.
DSfan 09-02-2008, 04:34 PM I hope they add Atlanta Hawks games in the future, they are an up and coming team now in the NBA.
