The project is an untitled, single-cam "mock-umentary" about three families

Following ABC's pick-up earlier this week of five new series for next season, the network continues on the development path, giving a put pilot commitment to Back To You creators Steve Levitan and Christopher Lloyd.
The project is an untitled, single-cam "mock-umentary" about three families that will focus on one traditional clan (mom, dad, kids); one May-December marriage with kids; and a gay couple who adopt a Vietnamese baby. The fictional "filmmaker" reportedly also will be a character in the show.
The project is produced by 20th Century Fox TV, where Levitan and Lloyd have their deal.

Can you believe this? Now ABC is even going after the Back to You producers? What the hell is wrong with them?-LOL
Brian Damage 08-28-2008, 04:08 PM  THIS IS JUST ABSOLUTELY NUTS!!! Why not give BTY another shot?

I swear, Brian, ABC is driving me up the wall! They obviously had some sort of attachment to Back to You, because there's no way this could all be a little coincidence!

Exactly, maybe we sent the water to the wrong place! ;)

Don't even play around like that, Brian
But, maybe you're right. I think we ruled out ABC too soon and put too much emphasis on CBS.

I agree, if only we had the heads up. lol
Maybe we'll get lucky and the entire BTY cast comes aboard this project.
JulieSomoski 08-28-2008, 07:18 PM I would love to see the entire cast join onto a new project if it can't be Back to You - it would be much better than having them all in 4 different shows.
On a different note, I've been reading some of the old BTY threads on this board, and it's really sad, because we were all guessing this show to be a huge hit and to be around for awhile. I honestly don't know what went wrong.

In two words, Kevin Reilly (Or whatever the bastards name is) ;)

I think that would be it-LOL.
I didn't realize exactly how many posts you've made on this board, though. The whole first 3 pages are nothing but threads that you started  Thank god I noticed one of them one day, because if I hadn't, I probably never would have gotten into this show.

:D
Yeah, I guess I went a little too overboard, but I was really excited about this show!

I never noticed ;) I think you got everyone else on this board excited as well - I've never seen you this excited for a new show before, but in the end, I think we all knew why. It's a great show.
Cactus Jack 08-29-2008, 11:56 AM Doc Brown created bTY?
ryan423 08-29-2008, 01:09 PM ^^ Yes he did. He's a great actor, writer and director!
Sadly guys, this show sounds boring to me, lol. Anyone else agree?
I'm glad Ty and Ayda's new show was picked up already though:) That and Patricia's sound the most interesting at the least.
Still, I rather rewtach BTY Season 1 on dvd when released anytime over the new shows!

Ty and Ayda's pilot sounds good, as does Patricia's. Too bad about Kelsey's new pilot, though. I wish that would picked up, just for the memory :D
But, I agree with you, this doesn't sound like the best pilot. Watching Back to You reruns every single day would be a lot better than seeing everybody on all different shows on the same network.

What happen to Kelsey's pilot?
ryan423 08-29-2008, 03:10 PM It didnt get picked up. Doesn't mean he wont be doing anything in the near future. IMO, I think its best. After his health issues this year, I'd take the year off If I were him!

It's looking less and less likely that it'll make it at this point.
And it may be a good thing like you said, Ryan. He needs time off.

I agree with you guys, Kelsey has enough money. His health is what is important now.

You mean, that new show? Roman's Empire?
A part of me wanted to see Kelsey again, but you are all right, he needs to take care of his health.
So I guess I'm back to watching Kelsey on Cheers, Frasier and Back To You....
Looking forward to seeing him in the new movie coming out in Oct. 3rd, An American Carol.
What can I say, I love the guy.
