I'm considering writing fan letters to both Dick Van Dyke and Mary Tyler Moore. I'm wondering if anyone here as written to them? Did you receive anything in return, and what did you say in your letter?

I'm wondering if anyone here as written to them? Did you receive anything in return, and what did you say in your letter? hank18 08-29-2008, 04:07 AM I wrote to both of them several years ago when I was in high school and got replies. (Also got signed pictures from Rose Marie, Carl Reiner and Morey Amsterdam before he passed.) I know DVD is very good about writing back but I think nowadays MTM does her fanmail through a website. Hope this helps.:) Indy788 08-29-2008, 12:49 PM They actually wrote back rather than just sent a signed picture?? wow :) Thanks for the response. I wrote DVD and sent it today. I hope I get some kind of answer. hank18 08-29-2008, 02:05 PM I think it's easier for young kids to get a sincere response... at least that's been my experience as I've continued writing to people through the years. I'd still like to write to Ann Guilbert (Millie) but I have yet to find a good contact address. Indy788 08-29-2008, 03:45 PM hmm. Well I'm 20 so hopefully that's young enough. Did you try one of these addresses for Ann Morgan Guilbert: http://www.fanmail.biz/30403.html LauraNamesake 08-29-2008, 09:57 PM I wrote to Mary Tyler Moore and got back an autograph, and I'm 12. Haven't written to Dick Van Dyke. Too nervous. Schmoopie 08-30-2008, 03:00 AM Wow that's cool! I hope you get a response! Dick Van Dyke sounds like he would be a very nice person. I'd love to meet him someday! Andrea hank18 08-30-2008, 03:59 AM hmm. Well I'm 20 so hopefully that's young enough. (But that can often take many months.) Indy788 08-30-2008, 12:50 PM I wrote to Mary Tyler Moore and got back an autograph, and I'm 12. Haven't written to Dick Van Dyke. Too nervous. You should write him LauraNamesake! Even if you are nervous, you might regret not writing him later. Wow that's cool! I hope you get a response! He seems like one of those celebrities that really appreciates his fans and is just generally nice to everyone. LauraNamesake 08-30-2008, 04:57 PM You should write him LauraNamesake!
