I'm considering writing fan letters to both Dick Van Dyke and Mary Tyler Moore. I'm wondering if anyone here as written to them? Did you receive anything in return, and what did you say in your letter?

I wrote to both of them several years ago when I was in high school and got replies. (Also got signed pictures from Rose Marie, Carl Reiner and Morey Amsterdam before he passed.)

I know DVD is very good about writing back but I think nowadays MTM does her fanmail through a website. Hope this helps.:)

I think it's easier for young kids to get a sincere response... at least that's been my experience as I've continued writing to people through the years.

I'd still like to write to Ann Guilbert (Millie) but I have yet to find a good contact address.

as a longtime autograph collector i can tell you that dick vandyke is known to respond thru the mail in fact he has made several collectors top 10 best mail signers lists while ive never written him myself i have met a few people who have and got a response so i say give it a try
