They were around Rollo's age and he frowned all up when asked if he had RIPPLE-lol Like it was only something OLD PEOPLE DRANK.

The Mystery-"Why was Rollo against Ripple?-lol

I don't quite remember the scene but I'm guessing that Rollo felt it was too cheap and he either had or wanted to have something better for them. Ripple was considered a wino's drink and maybe he didn't like that they thought it was all he could afford.

Rollo wanted to impress the girls and show them that he had class by offering the Booz-yo-lay insead of some cheap ol' Ripple.

And did you ever see Woody drinking Ripple? C'mon, Woody was hard core! He went for the whiskey and gin, etc., reserving the Ripple for Ned the Wino on Good Times (played by the same actor)!

On the show "Sanford" (1980), Woody was killed off, probably because of his boozing. No doubt living with Esther had something to do with it.

Living with Esther probably IS the #1 reason why he drank so much.
