It was from 1980. He made the best of it though-lol He was playing cards with the looney toons-lol JulieSomoski 08-28-2008, 01:43 PM A very funny episode - I just watched it a few days ago on the season 6 DVD - It was one of those very random Jeffersons episodes, and one that definitely made me laugh a lot. catlover79 08-28-2008, 01:45 PM I've never seen it but it sounds hilarious. Since it's on DVD, I'll have to see if I can get it out of the library. Thanks for the tip, Brian! JulieSomoski 08-28-2008, 03:57 PM I've never seen it but it sounds hilarious. Since it's on DVD, I'll have to see if I can get it out of the library. Thanks for the tip, Brian! It's weird because it's one episode of The Jeffersons that you just don't see too often for some reason. Other episodes I've seen a hundred times, but this one I"ve only seen twice I think. Brian Damage 08-28-2008, 04:11 PM Hey, you wanna buy a PEN? TVFactFan 08-28-2008, 06:01 PM It's weird because it's one episode of The Jeffersons that you just don't see too often for some reason. Can't have the GREEN one! LOL Willsatx 01-06-2009, 02:43 AM Can't have the RED one! Can't have the BLUE one! Can't have the GREEN one! LOL I remember it so well a funny episode, is this the episode one where someone told George his dad never thought him how to play cards. But when he won he said his mom thought him how to play? OKCRay 01-06-2009, 08:26 PM I remember it so well a funny episode, is this the episode one where someone told George his dad never thought him how to play cards. But when he won he said his mom thought him how to play? That's a different episode. This episode starts off with everyone helping with some painting in the Willis' apartment. George leaves because he needs to make a cleaning delivery and pickup at a sanitarium. Louise doesn't believe George and thinks he's running off to a poker game. After arriving at the sanitarium, a recent arrival takes off with George's laundry bag, leaving the staff to believe that George is the new patient. Sometime during the mixup, George calls Louise to explain what happened, however someone in the background (the "pen guy", I'm pretty sure) yells out "let's play cards!", causing Louise to distrust George even more, until the mixup is finally resolved (but not before George is put into a strait-jacket for going off on the Pen guy). Jack1000 04-09-2009, 02:00 AM I LOVE This episode!!! Jack catlover79 09-21-2009, 06:02 PM I just checked out Season 6 from the library. But when he won he said his mom thought him how to play? Yeah, George said to the guy, "I thought you said your dad never taught you how to play cards." The guy said, "He didn't. My mommy did!" catlover79 12-23-2009, 03:12 AM I thought it was so funny that the "pen guy" (actor George Loros) also played a recurring role on The Sopranos. Big3sCompanyFan 12-23-2009, 05:48 PM yeah, you didn't see many episodes when that happened. The Hawaii episodes and the episodes where George got stabbed by the female gang are the only epidosed I can think of where they spent a lot of time outside the apt. The Hawaii episodes were GREAT because it was great to get totally away from the apt. for a few episodes. The funny farm episode was great too! "Sorry, somebody might've heard me"--Herbie. LOL! Big3sCompanyFan 12-23-2009, 05:50 PM Do you think any show these days (in this oh-so-PC world) could get away with airing an episode like this that pokes fun at crazy people - no wonder how funny it is?? You could NEVER do the funny farm episode today. Mental Health groups would be up in arms. Just like how you couldn't do most All in the Family episodes today! LOL! Scoobiedoo30 12-23-2009, 06:00 PM that was a great episode. catlover79 12-23-2009, 06:18 PM You could NEVER do the funny farm episode today. Mental Health groups would be up in arms. I'd trust George Jefferson over either Al or Jesse - and it's scary how little that's saying.  |
