The two times where Frank was awarded a Purple Heart for some stupid injury and Hawkeye wound up stealing them to give them away. He might not have agreed with how Frank obtained those Purple Hearts, but they were not his to take! I'm surprised Frank didn't have him arrested for stealing. I would have supported Frank on that one.

I liked Hawkeye in the beginning, but it seemed like it was around the time that Frank left that he started going too far. There are four times that I come to mind. The first was when he tried to charge the country for his work because some guy back in the states was making more then he was. There is always going to be some one making more money then you, that doesn't mean you start whining to the goverment. The second time would be when he snuck up to the peace talks and pretended that he was called to be there. The third time was when he yelled at one of the patients for calling one of the Koreans a gook. I know it is wrong to call people names like that, but that man was out fighting in a war watching the man next to him get shot and killed and then ends laying in a hospital bed. I don't care who you are, you don't yell at a man who has just gone through something like that. The fourth, and the time that I think he went WAY too far was when he removed the man's appendix because of how many wounded he was bringing in. That entire episode annoyed me. He was trying to prove a point that that man was wrong while he's drugging him up and cutting him open for no reason.

When Hawkeye f***ed Houlihan. Hawkeye must of have been hard up doing Frank's old girlfriend, even though they thought it might have been their last night on Earth.
This is when the show Jumped The Shark.

That was actually the 2nd time Hawkeye cut into a healthy body to keep someone from doing something he was against. In the episode "White Gold," he and Trapper dopped up and and removed the appendix of Col. Flagg to prevent him from using their penicillin to trade for information.
BTW, in the episode regarding Col. Lacey; in the original script they had BJ going along with Hawkeye; however, Mike Farrell objected because he felt that his character would never agree to such an idea. That's how the scene where BJ tries to explain to Hawkeye how wrong he is in what he wants to do came to be.
