Yesterday I went into Food Lion armed with a load of coupons that allowed me to get certain Kraft items free if I purchased 3 of their products. The cheapest product I could buy and still get the free items was Kool-Aid at .20 per pack. I had 13 coupons that were good for the following: 4 packs of Oscar Mayer hotdogs (3.85 each) 3 boxes of Wheat Thins (3.59 each) 3 bottles of Kraft salad dressing (2.79 each) & 3 cannisters of Crystal Light (2.50 each)

The 39 packs of Kool-Aid were 7.90, The Crystal Light is normally 3.99 but was on sale for 2.50 so that brought the total down to 4.09 including tax I then handed the cashier 3 coupons good that were each good for 1.00 off my next purchase at Food Lion so the final total was 1.09. I like to save as much money as possible but that's the best I've ever done.

Congrats to you for actually sticking to the things you had coupons for. I know when I go grocery shopping, I have my mind set to go and purchase only things that I have coupons for. But I end up getting other things that we do not need.

Impressive! I think the most I've ever saved from coupons was $20 off a $50 order.

Wow - how would you like to come shop for my family sometime? If you could save that much money for us, you'd be my husband's new best friend! ;)

Anyone can do what I did and others have done just as well or better. One of my favorite tricks is to take advantage of buy one get one free sales while using coupons on the items. Most grocery stores around here begin their sales on Wednesdays and post the newest circular online around midnight. The first thing I do is look at the circular then head for eBay to see if anyone is offering coupons for any of the items I may want.

My best haul using this method happened 3 years ago when one of our stores had 2 litre Pepsi products for .99 and they were also buy 1 get 1 free. I went to eBay and found a seller offering 20 coupons that were good for .50 off any 2 litre Pepsi product so with the coupons and the sale price, I was able to purchase 40 bottles for 9.80 plus tax.

The only disadvantge about buying coupons on ebay is that there's no guarantee they will arrive before the sale ends but so far that hasn't been a problem. I also have a printer that I use specifically for coupons and of course I take the Sunday paper.

I usually just buy the items, with or without a sale or coupon. I almost always do my shopping on Fridays, because it's most convenient for me. I may start using more coupons, though, because we'll definitely be saving tons more money than we already are.

40 2-Liters for $10? That's amazing. I usually buy canned pop, but with your method of shopping, 2-Liters may be the way to go.

Sorry, I'm not impressed unless it's under a dollar. Kidding you. That's a great score. I'm a master of that myself, but never anything that good. I've got CVS down to a science. I'll walk out with $80 worth of products, and shell out 12 bucks. My husbands jokes that I should wear a ski mask when I go there, since it's like a robbery.

 Good one. I knew this one lady who worked at CVS. She would actually work for me, put coupons through that perhaps weren't exactly right or whatever. We'd talk about our pets and whatever. I only knew her from CVS. I'd wait 10 minutes in her line, rather than go to another register, lol.

thats awesome... its great when you have an awesome cashier..sometimes they can be in a mood when you come up with all of those coupons and get really angry...I was at the local grocery one day and my total was like 50.00 and with my coupon savings it was like 19.00 and the cashier flipped out saying that these coupons better be okay cause they will take the money out of her paycheck and she is a single mom who needs every dollar...and she started to cry and her manager had to escort her away from her checkstand and finish my order himself...he apologized and gave me a 5.00 gift card for my wait...so I only paid 14.00...for alot of groceries.

I went shopping today and got an awesome deal...a few weeks ago in our coupon insert in the Sunday paper there was a coupon for a free loaf of Sara Lee Bread.. Up to $3.89...well most of my friends and family dont use coupons but save them for me...yeah me!! so I went to the store and had coupons for 20 free loaves of bread...Yippeeee!!!!...I only paid like 2 bucks or something for all that...and donated all of it to the food pantry:)

Well, you actually have to feel sorry for her. Maybe she was really afraid she wouldn't be able to pay all her bills that month?
