Well with the new fall TV season coming up I thought I would get The TV Guide to catch up on all the new shows. Does anyone else get it?:)

Not yet, but I may check it out to see if there are any promising series coming out this fall! Thanks for the info!

I still get it through the mail, but I liked TV Guide better when it was a small, rectangular magazine and when it had local listings for different areas.

I stopped ordering it in 2007 because they changed it AGAIN after the big change in 2005 to the Magazine format. I will buy the Fall preview though but that's it

Well I wasn't that interested in it during the smmer months because it wasn't any TV Show news due to the Hitaus so TV guides have always been USELESS during the summer months-lol

to have the missing years, but they cost too much on eBay. (In case you're
curious, I paid $36.00 for the '53 issue, $10.51 for '61, and $22.01 for '65 (not all at
the same time) .. back when I was earning big bucks! :lol: )

I agree with you about ebay, in order for me to buy a TV guide it has to be $5.00 or less with shipping and handling included.

Yeah, that was my first impression when they changed the format nearly three years ago: just an Entertainment Weekly wannabe! Ah, well ...

tv guide was at its pinnacle in the early 90's. their mag. sucks now its only a matter of time before they cease publication entirely.

As much as I hate to say it, it's true. Plus, I have TiVo so I don't really need to use the listings anymore. I miss the OLD TV Guide! I hate that they had to make it so much bigger than it was before!:thumbsdow

You know I get them delivered just because I always have and I don't want to stop the collection...I haven't even opened one since the season ended in May. I just stack them on a table and get ready to box them.

I think maybe TV Guide should do as Dell did back in the '60s. Dell
published an annual for many years, Who's Who in Television (a great
magazine that had brief bios of all the stars of all the network shows). I
think that, in a similar fashion, TV Guide could just publish their annual
Fall Preview issue, with descriptions of all the new and returning shows. But
the weekly magazine is outdated now, because all that info is readily available
from other sources. But I'd definitely want the Fall Preview issues to continue.

what did dell do in the 1960's

dell mags were so cool back in the day (40's, 50's and 60's) they used to have great movie mags. featuring stars of yesteryear but they were non tabloid just nice fluff articles. fluff articles don't make it today. (my avatar is of a dell cover from 1947)

Yeah! Back then, Dell had a terrific line of paperback books, magazines and
comic books (many of them based on or about television shows or movies).
I still have some of the books and mags and many, many of the comic books.
Today, when you say "Dell," all anyone thinks of is computers! :lol:

if and when TV Guide does go out of Business what happens with the people who get's TV Guide in the mail.
