View Full Version : Who do you think would make a good game show host? Brian Damage 08-23-2008, 04:59 PM It could be a comedian, actor, actress, sports personality, etc... JulieSomoski 08-23-2008, 05:15 PM Great thread! I've always thought Ellen would make a great gameshow host - she's the only talkshow host I'll tune into when I don't have anything else to watch, and she's definitely got the personality a gameshow host would need. And I may be in the minority here, but I always thought Roseanne would make a great gameshow host. I don't know why - just something about her would make me watch her gameshow. Brian Damage 08-23-2008, 06:55 PM Ellen is certainly an interesting choice, (and a good one) I thought that Norm Mcdonald would make a great host. I always found him to be hilarious. 70s show watcher 08-24-2008, 01:48 AM charles barkley wilmer valderama and john goodman Brian Damage 08-24-2008, 01:50 AM charles barkley wilmer valderama and john goodman Interesting choices indeed Jude The Obscure 08-24-2008, 05:01 PM Lyle Waggoner! Somehow he just has those gameshow host looks and voice! Brian Damage 08-24-2008, 05:57 PM Lyle Waggoner! Somehow he just has those gameshow host looks and voice! He kind of reminds me of George Hamilton. ;) Schmoopie 08-24-2008, 06:01 PM Definitely a comedian of some sort. I would say John O'Hurley, but he's already been a game show host! My favorite one, actually! Welll, how about Gary Shandling? Andrea tv star collector 08-24-2008, 06:04 PM David Hasselhoff Hal Linden Burt Reynolds Dick Van Dyke Pat Harrington JulieSomoski 08-24-2008, 06:29 PM charles barkley wilmer valderama and john goodman John Goodman is an interesting choice - I never though of him, but now that I do, he probably would make a good gameshow host. How about Sherman Hemsley? IMO, he'd make a great gameshow host! :D EighteenMinutes 08-24-2008, 07:18 PM I've always thought Ellen would make a great gameshow host Ugh. No offense...to each their own, of course...but I'd rather poke sharpened pencils in my eyes and ears than be exposed to Ellen in any capacity. She'd fall into Drew Carey status as a game show host. EighteenMinutes 08-24-2008, 07:20 PM charles barkley I never would have thought of Sir Charles but I would tune into a game show he hosts any time.... 70s show watcher 08-24-2008, 07:51 PM Lyle Waggoner! I. Love. You. Such artistry in this post...and it explains exactly how I feel too! I think Cameron Mathison would be a kick ass game show host. He's a better emcee than he is an actor. tv star collector 08-25-2008, 08:35 AM dick vandyke and pat harrington both hosyed game shows dick hosted a show called laugh line back in 1959 and pat hosted stump the stars for a short time back in 1962 That's interesting. I'm not surprised; they seem to have good personalities. Scoobiedoo30 08-25-2008, 01:30 PM Jodie Sweetin Jude The Obscure 08-25-2008, 07:09 PM he hoted its your bet at one time Never saw that show, so I wouldn't remember it. I would think he would be an excellent host now :) Scoobiedoo30 08-27-2008, 02:40 PM Harry Anderson Wreckless 08-27-2008, 02:45 PM charles barkley wilmer valderama and john goodman I totally agree! And I agree with BD, interesting choices. Charles is so brutally honest and serious when he wants to be, but goofy when he wants to be, I can see him doing Jeopardy maybe. Wilmer Valderama is that dude!! And for my choice, Jeremy Roenick! No seriously. Scoobiedoo30 08-27-2008, 02:55 PM John Stamos Jude The Obscure 08-27-2008, 06:44 PM Harry Anderson Harry was supposed to have been the host of a revived CBS "What's My Line?" a few seasons back. For some reason, the production never got underway. icecream 08-27-2008, 11:15 PM Ken Jennings should replace Alex Trebek when he retires from Jeopardy. JulieSomoski 08-28-2008, 01:32 PM Ken Jennings should replace Alex Trebek when he retires from Jeopardy. I'd love to see that happen! It won't be soon before Alex retires, I think, so they should definitely keep Ken in mind! howilu 08-28-2008, 04:29 PM I'll throw in two nominations. Barry Williams, who played Greg Brady on The Brady Bunch and Kevin James. mriggles 08-29-2008, 11:34 PM I think that dude mriggles should be the next host of the price is right.... He is just plain awesome ;) JulieSomoski 08-30-2008, 12:11 AM I think that dude mriggles should be the next host of the price is right.... I think he is absolutely hilarious! Andrea EighteenMinutes 08-30-2008, 08:48 AM How about Joel McHale from the Soup? He couldn't pull off a classic show like Price is Right but if some trendy new game show popped up, I think he'd be decent... mriggles 08-30-2008, 12:45 PM You know, now that I think about it, I couldn't agree more! ;) thanks girl ;) opus 05-27-2025, 06:48 PM Ken Jennings should replace Alex Trebek when he retires from Jeopardy. opus 05-27-2025, 06:55 PM How come no one back in ‘08 said Valerie Bertinelli? Hawkee 05-28-2025, 03:00 AM If Nickelodeon were to do a reboot of Nickelodeon Guts I would have to pick Jeremy Renner as the new host because Jeremy could work well on Nickelodeon Guts and he would be as good as Mike O'Malley and with his personality and fun Jeremy Renner would make a great host for a new reboot of Nickelodeon Guts if it was to occur Do you agree? opus 05-28-2025, 01:04 PM If Nickelodeon were to do a reboot of Nickelodeon Guts I would have to pick Jeremy Renner as the new host because Jeremy could work well on Nickelodeon Guts and he would be as good as Mike O'Malley and with his personality and fun Jeremy Renner would make a great host for a new reboot of Nickelodeon Guts if it was to occur Do you agree? 321622 Hawkee 05-29-2025, 02:19 AM 321622 Oh, Opus I love that picture. I always have fantasized and dreamed of seeing Jeremy Renner try his hand at being a game show host and like I mentioned in my previous post if there would be a reboot of Nickelodeon Guts being made Jeremy Renner would be a wonderful replacement for Mike O'Malley because he has sports expertise and since they had archery as one of the challenges of Nickelodeon Guts Jeremy Renner could offer some of his Hawkeye advice to the contestants Thank you so much for replying Opus Hawkee AMackII 12-07-2025, 12:12 PM How come no one back in ‘08 said Valerie Bertinelli? I think Valerie Bertinelli does count by she hosted Bingo Blitz. Another choice is Mark Paul Gosselaar but has he hosted a show before? howierules86 12-07-2025, 05:20 PM ^Yes, to Mark-Paul. He hosted a 1993 NBC Saturday morning game show called "Brains & Brawn." Hawkee 01-03-2026, 05:06 AM Wheel Of Fortune should've had Jason Bateman replace Pat Sajak as host instead of Pat Sajak because Jason Bateman sounds exactly like Pat Sajak and I always wished second to Jeremy Renner that Jason Bateman could host a game show because he would be great to watch Jason do game shows and Jason Bateman could be a game show star if he could host a game show in the future |
