I saw the promo for this the other night and I was very interested in seeing this show since it is supposed to be the 1970's. I was wondering why the show didn't have it's own message board on here.

Looks like it's the 1970's which is the life on Mars and even when the showed the promo, it was the OLD ABC logo from that decade-lol The 70's is my favorite Decade so You know I will be watching.

Any show about the 70's Ii'd be interested in. I saw a few promos for it, and it actually looks like a good non-soapy ABC show. It's very different from shows like Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy that are their blockbuster shows. This is probably the only show this season I was interested in from the start. This and The Mentalist I plan on checking out this season - TM may be just another CBS drama, though.

I think it's sad when there's not 1 new sitcom I'm even the slightest interested in checking out.

pretty much the exact same thing, except it was set in Manchester, England - they are even using the same main character's name, Sam Tyler.

The basic premise is that a cop gets in an accident and wakes up in 1973, unable to figure out if he's travelled back in time, if he's dead or in a coma or just plain crazy. He solves crimes with the police of the day, using his knowledge of modern police techniques and helps change some of the attitudes of the cops he works with.

Throughout the series there are brief hints or clues that give him some contact with his old life and helps him figure out what has happened to him.

i should also mention that a VERY big part of the BBC series that lent to its success was the inclusion of a lot of music from the 70's, such as the David Bowie classic that gives the series its name.

It will have its own board soon...but this is a drama, Solomon. Although it is a comedic drama with an all-star cast...Lisa Bonet even.

Yeah, most likely if I like it. I will get the pilot very soon anyway before it airs and will let you know my review of it.

I was looking forward to it until I found out all about the turmoil behind the set. That's never a good sign so I don't know what to think now.

They replaced just about the whole cast but the lead. :lol: I'll give the show a chance but I'm not getting my hopes up.

See I love Cop shows and especially shows set in the 70's so that's why I was excited. :lol:

I always love the nostalgic shows set in the past - whether or not it's a cop show, I'll still watch. I think it's the fact that TV now is filled with cop shows that you just get tired of them - I'm surprised CBS didn't try to get this show-LOL

CbS stands for Crime shows, ABC stands for Soaps , NBC stands for really bad TV and Fox stands for idiots in high places. :lol:

What does that have to do with the quality of a show, though? The cast got better from the original pilot. Michael Imperioli, Harvey Keitel, Gretchen Mol and Lisa Bonet are now on the show. Worth the change. There were a lot of changes made when Brothers & Sisters was being developed and look how that turned out. A solid show with a great cast and writing. When they brought in Greg Berlanti, it was instant success.

ABC didn't like the original pilot, that is all that was really happened. They did let go David E. Kelley from the showrunner position and gave it to the October Road showrunners and they brought in a much better cast and hopefully a better script.

Brothers and Sisters is the exception though...usually when things get changed at the last minute, it's not a good sign. But like I said I hope it's a great show and I will give it a try.
