Does anyone know how many years there was an Ozzie and Harriet radio and tv show on at the same time? It would seem to me doing two completely different shows each week was quite a chore, but we all know the incredible energy the Nelson's had, especially Ozzie.

The radio show ran from 1944 to 1954, and the tv show started in 1952, so about two years of both shows. There were 402 radio shows, Ricky and David didn't join the radio show until 1949. That was a lot of work for two young children to do both shows for two years.
I remember one show about The Receptionist that ran both on the radio and the tv show, so maybe they did more of the double type shows. It sure would have been less work if they did.

I would imagine that as the years went on especially, they delved into using or re working old scripts of the radio show as well as old scripts of the tv series. 402 and 435.. that's an awful lot of different plots to come up with. Maybe too, that's why so many of the titles confuse us, when we are trying to figure out what episode is what because they seem to be able to go with a couple different episodes.
