Buzz Aldrin and Henry Winkler Part of Canada's Biggest Pop-culture Event set to take place this Weekend


TORONTO, Aug. 19 /CNW/ - Fan Expo will invade Toronto this Friday.
Canada's most popular pop culture event, Fan Expo will bring Buzz Aldrin - one
of the first people to walk on the moon - horror film producer and writer, Wes
Craven, and some of the biggest names in science fiction to Toronto.

Fan Expo is brought by Hobby Star Marketing and will take place from August 22-24 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in the South Building.

The annual event staged at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre
encompasses over 270,000 square feet, and focuses on five pop culture genres including: The Comic Book Expo; SFX - Science Fiction Expo; The Rue Morgue Festival of Fear - Horror; CNAnime - Japanese Animation and GX - Gaming Expo.

Over 50,000 genre fans from all over the world are expected to attend this
year's event.

Other highlights from this year's show will include: Informational
workshops with industry experts offering advice, tips and reviews; Masquerade,
Canada's largest costume contest; Rue Morgue Festival of Fear; 600 commercial
exhibitors supporting a full compliment of pop culture and entertainment
themes including comic books, manga, animation, toys, collectible card games,
video games and web entertainment; exclusive show merchandise; millions of
dollars in collectibles for sale, and new this year is the Major League Gaming
(MLG), which replaces the World Series of Video Games.
