Yep that be me!

Apparently not realizing the extent of how tired I've been from my job, I came home yesterday, took off my uniform to put in the washing machine and then promptly started a load

To discover I washed my cell phone! :wallbang

So now looks like I'll have to buy another one..... :livid:

it'll be another Tracfone though as I'm not one to use a cell phone to do anything but emergencies or to say I'm coming home, etc. I don't text, I don't use my phone as a camera, play games,--yea, i'm boring!

I've never done that, but I have come close a few times! I did watch my wallet once!

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOPS!!!  A few months back, I accidentally gathered a book I was reading in with a pile of dirty laundry and started the machine. Needless to say, the book was ruined! Thank goodness it was mine and not a library book. I ended up buying another copy of the book and I always double check to make sure I only have CLOTHES in each load I wash.

I'm boring, too, Jude - I don't text, take pictures with my phone, play games or anything like that. I just use it when necessary. I'm not much for talking on the phone - ESPECIALLY in public.

Sorry to hear that Jude. The Dollar General Store has Tracfones for $15 to $20. At least here in Nashville they do.

my dad did the same thing, left it in his shirt pocket and threw it in the washer. my boss dropped hers in the toilet, miraculously after letting it dry out it still worked. i dropped mine in the bathtub once, it never worked again.

I'd let it dry out first. Who knows? It might work again. :)

Thanks BarneyFife--I had them in mind! I would like the newer flip-style phones hee hee :)

And Lodee--it's been drying out.......but so far no response :(

I may have do a Star Trek Dr McCoy on it--"It's dead, Jim!"

 A USB cord.

I've probably washed like $50 worth of money in my pocket over the past few years. I always am lazy and don't put it back in my wallet and forget that it's even in one of my pockets.

I washed a Gameboy cartridge many years ago (this was late 90s, I think), and it still worked. :) I've also accidentally left my lip balm in my pocket, but they've always come out of the wash just fine.

My mom, on the other hand, washes her tissues ALL THE FREAKING TIME. Then in the dryer, I'm having to pick off shredded bits of tissue from my/her clothes and the lint trap. :wallbang

oh yea, wondering--can this phone be sent off in that recycled cell phone program? And I guess maybe I need to notify Tracfone that this particular phone will no longer be in service (so they can eventually recycle the number--if I can't transfer the number to the new phone?).

Oh man! What a bummer! I am forever leaving stuff in my pockets before doing a wash. It drives my husband ! I don't text much either on mine. I do use the camera quite a bit but other than that, it's just for phone calls!

oh well! Tracfone said I can transfer my leftover minutes and keep my phone number. I'm considering the $49.99 LG model because when you buy that one--you get double minutes for the life of the phone every time you buy minutes.

 I accidentally put my credit card through the wash once.

I'm like you, Jude. I just use my cellphone for talking. Wasn't that what phones were invented for in the first place?
