JulieSomoski 08-19-2008, 03:32 PM I have mixed feelings about this schedule, but in a huge way it's a step up from September, so I have to applaud TV Land! In a huge change of pace, their 2 top shows, Andy Griffith and MASH, are out of primetime - I never thought I'd see that happen! And to think, it's the more current shows like Cosby, Scrubs, and 3rd Rock that pushed them out!
I'm an avid fan of EM:HE, but 2 episodes a night is too much - 1 episode is enough, especially since it's an hour long. I think we'll be seeing an episode cut soon. And I'm thrilled that Mad About You, Murphy Brown, and Designing Women are back - granted, it's at 4am, but I guess that's what DVR's are for-LOL
And Myths and Legends is by far their best reality show and the only one I have watched to date, if the episodes are good.
icecream 08-19-2008, 03:34 PM way too much Home Edition
Pavan 08-19-2008, 03:36 PM 7pm Home Edition is an encore from the previous night's 11pm episode, so they are maxing their plays for it...getting their money's worth by encoring it. Remember encores within 24 hours are free plays.
Mondays 11am encores at 7pm, so that takes care of that. Weekend two-hour episodes premiere 8-10am then encore Saturday 8-10pm and Sunday 6-8pm.

Still, it's one way too much. it would have been better to encore it at like 5am instead.
Pavan 08-19-2008, 03:44 PM I bet 3rd Rock will not last 10-11pm and M*A*S*H will return within weeks, leaving 3rd Rock just 8:30am. Scrubs they will not have a short leash with, like 3rd Rock. They will make that work no matter what.

I don't think they'd abandon 3rd Rock that fast - I think if it doesn't work at 10pm, they'll move it to like midnight or something. Scrubs I'm not too sure on. It may be the George Lopez of TV Land - a surprise hit.
Pavan 08-19-2008, 04:04 PM 3rd Rock was a cheap buy like Just Shoot Me, from the Program Exchange.
USATVFAN 08-19-2008, 04:57 PM No More Three's Company? is it doing well?
Scoobiedoo30 08-19-2008, 05:00 PM I am sorry to see Three's Company going on another Hiatus
JulieSomoski 08-19-2008, 05:04 PM Forgot to mention Three's Company - it had another short run before going away again. I wish they'd give this show a decent slot again - it always did well for them in the past, I wonder why they could care less about it now. They renewed it just a year ago and barely used the plays.

You are right. It one of the best show of all time and I remember when TV Land started showing Three's Company it was one of their Top Rated shows and now i am not sure and they just Renewed it and I think puttting it at 2:00Am is not giving it a chance But aleast I have all the Seasons on DVD but i would like to know that a show I like and a great TV Classic was being aired so new Viewers can Discover it.

I think if they gave it a chance in primetime, it would do well. Maybe if 3rd Rock or Scrubs bombs, they can put in Three's Company as the replacement. It's very unlikely, and they'll probably use MASH instead, but it would still be nice to see TC where it belongs.
I honestly can't remember the last time TC aired in primetime - it had to be many years ago.
Pavan 08-19-2008, 05:14 PM Three's Company was never slated to be more than August/September. It was added last minute in August. Originally it was only slated to air three times in September on Thursday late nights.
Chelsea 08-19-2008, 05:19 PM Good to see Murphy Brown back, and good to see that they're still running Night Court.
JulieSomoski 08-19-2008, 05:24 PM Good to see Murphy Brown back, and good to see that they're still running Night Court.
I'm surprised Night Court is still on, but I'm glad to see it's doing well. I'm also glad they haven't abandoned MB or MAY - I thought once they were gone in August they'd be gone for good, but I'm glad they're not!
Scoobiedoo30 08-19-2008, 05:30 PM I belive Three's Company should be in a daytime Slot like 3:30 pm CT Time on TV Land.
benjamoon 08-19-2008, 07:32 PM I'm loving the 3AM-6AM block
It's very interesting though how it just seems to constantly be the CLASSICS that do well - the originals do great on their first airing but they can't air repeats of them constantly with success and the newer vintage shows (like Mad, Murphy, Just Shoot Me, 3rd Rock, etc) never pull through. I realize MAY and MB were N@N retreads but the other 2 are given a chance and either fail (JSM) or will probably fail (3rd Rock)... we'll see about Scrubs. Yet, Bonanza, Gunsmoke, M*A*S*H, Hogan's Heroes, Beverly Hillbillies, Andy Griffith, Sanford and Son, Jeffersons, Good Times, Leave it to Beaver and I Love Lucy ALL get better time slots than the aforementioned shows.... just saying ;)
Chocolate Moose 08-19-2008, 07:37 PM thank you for posting. none of t hose shows interest me at all ! i'll have to get more blockbuster dvds.

I do agree that it seems like the classics do better than the "modern classics" 80's and 90's shows. But, looking at this schedule, it seems like Beverly Hillbillies isn't doing as well as we might have thought - it's primetime and evening slots are gone, and it's only airing in afternoons and latenight - still better than some other shows, but maybe it isn't holding up too well in primetime. And I'm still surprised that TAGS and MASH are out of primetime this schedule - Andy is now only evening, MASH is only latenight. I think TV Land really wants the modern classics to do well, but its the classics that end up coming back.
thetornado 08-19-2008, 11:51 PM All i got to say is I am so glad that 3rd rock is back on TV!
ethelmaepotter 08-20-2008, 12:29 AM I think the programmers at TV Land must be on something. I mean, every month, they change the schedule around. Shows aren't on long enough for people to find them and start watching. Shows airs 10 times a day, then 2 times a day, then once a week, then their gone....all over the course of about two or three months. Does anyone know the ratings for TV Land now? They must be losing people...
rodwayne 08-22-2008, 11:10 AM Have these people lost their mind?!?New rule:no more shows on this network unless it's more than 20 years old!The tried, overplayed movies still on,trash and junk that they couldn't give away, and now, here comes 3RD ROCK FROM THE SUN.This show haven't even been run into the ground in syndication, yet it's on this network;how come I'm not surprise?!I hope like all of the modern classics,it fail and fail hard!!!Then fired the idiots that running,or in this case, ruining this network!

Rebafanhere 08-24-2008, 02:50 AM I am glad to see The Cosby show on again plus Murphy Brown! It looks like I will be watching more TV Land now. I will miss Threes Company also. Its a great show.
Schmoopie 08-24-2008, 05:29 AM  I used to wish I had TV Land because it seemed like they would always show the classics. Now they have regressed into doing what the other stations have been doing (particularly Nick at Nite), showing relatively new shows. And what is with a reality show being aired on TV Land! I thought the whole point of TV Land was to air old shows that aren't around anymore! TV has really gone downhill. Thank God for TV on DVD. Never thought I'd be excited about paying to rent something that I used to be able to watch for free!

KJH278 09-06-2008, 08:54 PM No more All in the Family? This sucks
storrs19 09-07-2008, 11:02 AM This entire channel sucks wind
But then I am used to that now which is why I no longer watch it so I really don't care what they air or not. I gave up on tv several years ago save for a few select channels like Turner Classic Movies, Fox Movie Channel, and some of the History / Discovery Channels.
ekkostar 09-08-2008, 01:38 PM I love that they're still showing Night Court, but I'm unhappy that they still are neglecting episodes. One I haven't seen since 2005 was an episode from either season 2 or 3 where everyone tells Dan to dress up because they're having a costume party and he ends up being the only one at the party in a costume when he arrives (I believe he was dressed as the Scarecrow from Wizard of OZ).
They did recently play the one where Harry gets the yellow Mel Torme lunchbox and I hadn't seen that one since the marathon.
storrs19 09-13-2008, 10:25 AM TVLand is notorious for skipping episodes of several series from what I understand. It seems they are repeating the first season or two of The Beverly Hillbillies over and over from what i can tell by my digital cable guide. I guess they don't have rights except for the first two seasons...or they have some idiot doing the programming. My guess is the later. ;)
omg65 09-13-2008, 11:44 AM TV Land really needs to change it's name.It resembles nothing to what it was and the audience that it courted 10 years ago.It resembles this country nowadays.Chase the dollar at all costs and don't give a damn about who brung ya to the dance in the first place. This company needs to stop hiding behind illusion they are a classic TV channel.I rarely watch TV Land anymore and that's too bad because this used to be my favorite.
factsoflife 09-21-2008, 12:13 PM i'm glad to see a network airing 3rd Rock From The Sun---that show is just way to funny to not be on. i'm actually surprised it hasn't shown up on TBS yet, it seems like a perfect fit for TBS and their brand of comedy.

Several years ago, Patricia and Milton Harper lost their two-year-old son when he choked on his food. At the time, the family was living in the projects in Brooklyn, New York where sadly, the paramedics couldn't get to the child in time to save his life. After putting in long hours and saving up every penny they had, the Harpers packed up their children and bought their first home which turned out to be a lemon - every time a rain storm hit, their septic tank would back up and flood their suburban home.
Thursday, October 2nd, 12am Imbriani Family
Brook Imbriani, a young, divorced mother of two, moved back into her childhood home in San Bernardino, California, to help her disabled mother take care of her dying father. Friday, October 3rd 9pm Florida (After the Storm)
Guest appearance Chris Botti
In October 2005, Hurricane Wilma, identified as one of the most intense hurricanes in American history, tore apart homes and lives as it ripped through Florida. The design team travels to weather-ravaged Broward County to help rebuild a local woman's soup kitchen and shelter that helps heal the hearts of thousands. In addition, the team helps create a dream wedding for a young couple whose own wedding was washed out twice, first by Hurricane Wilma and then Katrina. And lastly, the home stadium of the 2003 Little League World Champions is completely refurbished just in time for opening day.
Friday, October 3rd, 10pm Mississippi (After the Storm)
With all the heartaches and devastation wrought by Hurricane Katrina, a once-vibrant community now looks like a war zone: Casino barges traveled 800 feet into apartment buildings, while elsewhere neighborhood homes and businesses simply vanished. Now the design team of "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" heads to Biloxi to rebuild some cornerstones of the community, including a local free medical clinic, and to erect a new memorial to the victims of Katrina.
Friday, October 3rd 11pm, New Orleans (After the Storm)
When Hurricane Katrina and the post-storm flooding hit New Orleans, the 118 year-old First Emmanuel Baptist Church was badly damaged. Design team members and a local builder renovate the church and bring the community back for its first service since the hurricane. Additionally, in Katrina's aftermath, thousands of pets were rescued and sent to foster homes and shelters nationwide. Paul DiMeo fulfills the wishes of many families in an emotional segment by reuniting them with their furry friends. Finally, in hard-hit St. Bernard Parish, Paige Hemmis helps returning residents track down irreplaceable family photos in their devastated homes and has professional photo restorers save what was thought to be lost forever.
Friday, October 3rd 12am, Texas (After the Storm)
Guest appearance by the Goo Goo Dolls
Sabine Pass, Texas, a small oil town of just 600 people, was hammered by Hurricane Rita in 2005. Firehouse No. 4 was the town's only engine serving its population in emergencies. During the storm, the heroic firefighters worked a grueling 36-hour shift to save many lives before returning to their ravaged firehouse, only to find that this home away from home had been completely destroyed.
Saturday, October 4th 9pm/10pm Vardon Family
When Stefan Vardon, 14, wrote a heart-warming school essay about his deaf parents and his blind and autistic 12-year-old brother, he had no idea that it would lead to the team from "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" showing up at his family's door. In back-to-back episodes, the design team transforms the Vardon's ordinary 980-square-foot home into a dream home outfitted with the latest communications and safety devices for people with hearing loss and sight limitations.
Saturday, October 4th 11pm Crawford-Smith Family
Once a renowned dancer with the Dance Theatre of Harlem, Carol Crawford-Smith had to abandon her passion for performing when she was stricken with multiple sclerosis. She is committed to passing along her love of dance to others, saying "I'd rather smile and keep going than cry and feel sorry for myself." Carol's dream has always been to have her home and studio in one place so she can continue to teach and spend precious time with her young boys.
Sunday, October 5th 9pm Thomas Family
On September 11, 2001, Jason Thomas helped rescue two police officers who were trapped in the debris from the twin towers. Though he risked his life to save them, his identity was a secret until he saw a trailer for a motion picture that depicted his rescue. The heroic rescue was later made into a feature film, "World Trade Center," starring Nicholas Cage as one of the rescued police officers. Thomas' heroism was finally rewarded with a new home that is safe and strong.
Sunday, October 5th 11pm Rogers Family
Betsy Rogers is a single mother who is well-known in her community for her selfless attitudes and strong morals. Because of her brother's medical problems, Betsy must take him in along with his three children. The newly-increased family of thirteen is crammed into the Rogers' two-bedroom home. The tiny house is literally falling apart around them with walls separating from each other, windows cracked and broken and a water heater which only supplies enough heat for one warm shower.
"Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" is produced by Endemol USA, a division of Endemol Holding and distributed by Disney-ABC Domestic Television. David Goldberg is president of Endemol USA. The series originally premiered on ABC on December 3, 2003.

Scoobiedoo30 10-03-2008, 01:10 PM I was wondering if Extreme Makeober Home Edition to go to Another Station.
Pavan 10-03-2008, 01:31 PM Why would you wonder that if it was on TV Land already, lol?
Scoobiedoo30 10-03-2008, 01:40 PM say for example Reno 911 was airing on WGNO-ABC26 and in May of 2008 Reno 911 moved to NOLA38 again this is just an example.
Pavan 10-03-2008, 02:09 PM What does that have to do with anything? Extreme Home Makeover is not moving to CMT. It will ALSO air on CMT. I clearly said that in the post.

8:00p-10:00p Andy Griffith Show (replaces M*A*S*H)
10:00p-12:00a M*A*S*H (replaces Andy Griffith Show)
Scoobiedoo30 10-17-2008, 12:30 PM I know I will be watching M*A*S*H This coming Sunday at 9:00 pm CT Time along with the weeknight 11:00 pm and 11:30 pm Central Time.
JulieSomoski 10-17-2008, 05:08 PM Looks like Extreme Makeover: HE isn't doing that well. But, so far it seems like 3rd Rock and Cosby (especially) are doing pretty well. Bringing Andy back in to lead into TV Land PRIME doesn't sound that great, though. They're still relying on this and MASH to bring in the audience.
Pavan 10-17-2008, 05:14 PM EM: HE is doing fine. They just pulled the two-hour ones.
JulieSomoski 10-17-2008, 05:41 PM EM: HE is doing fine. They just pulled the two-hour ones.
And they moved the 7pm airing to latenights. That can't be a good sign, can it?
Pavan 10-17-2008, 05:44 PM No it isn't, but 11pm is fine. And that is the primary airing.
TVFactFan 10-17-2008, 10:03 PM Great Move by TV Land, now I have no more GAP in between the 11pm and 1am Hour with the Cosby Show on at 12am.
It was nothing on but Home Improvement and it was killing me-lol
