OK, I finished Seasons 1-4 on DVD and I'm desperate to keep going, as The Mary Tyler Moore Show is SO great.
I can't wait for 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment to put out 5-7 and I don't get American Life network to record them myself.
So I recently went on sell.com, and there seem to be four or five people who are offering Seasons 5-7 on DVD. I'm sure the quality isn't great, and they probably have commercials, but I'm going to take the plunge.

My question is, has anybody had any dealings with any of these people, before I dive in? I've heard some horror stories, but the people I've corresponded with so far all swear they're legit.

I got some dvd's from ioffer and didn't have any problems except one seller was a little slow in sending them out. The ones I got didn't have any commericals but they had the station logo in the corner. The picture quality was ok on most of them. I've never tried sell.com though.

I bought the season 5-7 on iOffer.com.

Pros:
1. I got to know what happens during season 5 to 7.
2. I had many laughs because some of the funniest episodes were during season 5 to 7.
3. I really am glad I was able to own some sort of ending to the show.


Cons:
1. The episodes are not complete. There are missing scenes. For one episode, I had to read the story details on line to know what had actually happened. Either because of the TV station trying to fit the show in the allotted time slot, or recording did not start and stop at the right moment.
2. They are not in correct order.
3. There are episodes of season 1 to 5 in between these DVDs.
4. Quality is not great and the logo is on the side of the show. These did not bother me at all. But some might not like it.

Knowing all the cons, I would buy it again in a heartbeat.
I am really glad I got to see the rest of the show and as soon as Fox releases the season 5 to 7, I will buy them.

Now, only if I could get Phyllis and Rhoda shows, life would be perfect!

Wow, thanks for the pros and cons Holly. I'm not looking for perfection, so despite the little annoyances you cited, I think I'll still buy.
The one thing that worries me, though, is that I thought I read, and it might even have been on this board, that one of the people touting Seasons 5-7 of the show shipped somebody bad product...and it looks like that same ad I saw on Ioffer.
You don't by any chance know the name of the person you bought from on Ioffer, do you?

They just released season 4 of "That Girl" (a I was the first one to buy it!!). Now when are they going to release 5 of Mary Tyler Moore? I mean MTM was a more popular show than That Girl, so they can't say they are getting more sales! Not that I don't love That Girl because I do, it's just that they've released 4 outa 5 of her season so quickly, and like no MTMs.
