In the second to last post, I started a thread about the appearance of Andy Gibb on a third season episode. In between then and now, there was a post by someone else who mentioned this episode but in an entirely different context than I did. This poster also mentioned other guest starts including Rue McClanehan. She in fact, made two appearances as two very different characters on two episode. These episode were three years apart. Now I would like to stimulate some conversation about a different guest star. The one that I am thinking of is Liz Sheridan. She appeared on the first season episode known as the "Emergency". Most people who are reading this post are probably thinking of her as the babe who played Jerry's mother on Seinfeld. In fact, when this episode is talked about in retrospect, it is sometimes referred to as the episode with the Seinfeld lady. However, back when it was made, the thing that she was most famous for was having been the girlfriend of the already late James Dean. I have, in fact, since read a book by her regarding her life in general and her relationship with James in partiuclar. Like I have mentioned a bunch of times before, my favorite part of this episode was Nell's halarious intereactions with the busybody on the pay phone! The busybody was played by Hazel Shermet. However, even though Hazel's part was my favorite, I also liked Nell's interactions with the fiesty nurse played by Liz. As far as I know, this was Liz's only appearances on this series. However, it was Hazel's second of three. It came out in between "Mom's Birthday" and "Nell Goes Door to Door".
