I wish that Buena Vista would release The Golden Palace onto DVD and dedicate the release to Estelle Getty as Sophia Petrillo. I thought she was fiestier on the show than The Golden Girls. I have enjoyed watching old tapes of The Golden Palace and I think this would be a good way of getting this short time series release and also honor a remarkable woman.

I agree. Don't know if this means anything but I emailed BV last week and they responded "We do not have a release date for this title at this time" which sounds a little better than the previous response "We have no plans to release this title at this time." Maybe it's wishful thinking on my end.

I would love to see the golden palaca come out on dvd.... I only saw the show when it iwas on lifetime for a short time and would love to see more of it!

As far as I'm concerned, its the 8th season of the Golden Girls and the series will never be truly complete until its released!

I am very surprised about how much push there is to get this spin-off sereis released! I thought of it as kind of a joke in its own time! Kind of in a league with "Puncky Brewster"! I thought that the humor was very forced and artificial and the premise was way too far movied from the cheesecake eathing old babes that we knew and loved. Go figure!
