Time

Jinny had been out of rehab for alcoholics for 9 1/2 months now. She hadnt touched a drink in 6 1/2 months plus the time she was in rehab.She and Teddy had gotten back together. And Teddy was now living with her.

At Jinny's appartment

Jinny:Hey, Teddy
Teddy:Yea, what?, he said calling from the bathroom
Jinny: Im going out for a bit. But ill be back in about (looks at her watch), 1 hour 2 at the most. OK?

Teddy comes into the living room where Jinny was standing putting her coat on.

Teddy:Ok
Jinny kisses him good bye
Jinny: Bye
Teddy: Bye be careful.

As she is heading out the door she says, I will.

Teddy sat there and thought.
He says to himself, I know something has been bothering her. But what? I sure dont want her to get really upset, cuz she has been doing so good with the rehab. Ay, maybe she is just tired. She has had lots of cases lately.

Jinny passes the Anchorside Bar and is tempted to stop. She parks on the side of the rode in front of it.
Jinny: No, i've made it this far and im NOT going to ruin it.

She pulls out and heads to Magdas house.

Jinny leaves and gets into her car

Wait i cant, we have to go to court.

She draggs herself out of bed and puts her clothes on. She is ready and heads out.

Jin:Yea. Ill be there.

Magda is sitting over there with a smirk on her face. Jinny gives her a look that says What?

For some reason Jinny was up beet and more happy. Especially considering that her and Teddy had just had a fight.

Jinny pulled into the parking lot to drop Magda off at her appartment.

Teddy!?! I cant believe u!
Teddy jumps up from the couch in which he had been sitting with Jenny (Jennifer his ex) with his arm around her watching TV.
Jinny wait!, he said as Jinny was getting her coat.

She gets into her car and pulls out.
I cant believe him! Why? I was feeling guilty and then there he was... I trusted him....I loved him. What am i gonna do without him? I loved him so much. Why would he do this to me? He was the first person that i ever really loved and trusted like that. I mean why does he think i went into rehab? It wasnt JUST for me, but for US. Then he goes and betrays the trust and love and everything else i gave him!

She is driving and doesnt even know where she is going or wants to go. Then she finds herself in the parking lot of where Magda lives. Maybe i should go in and talk to her. Or maybe i shouldnt.... Yea, i guess i could. Magda has always been a good friend and been there for me when i needed her even when i didnt know it.

She gets out of the car and walks up the stairs instead of taking the elevator so she would have time to think.
She let out a sigh while going up the last flight of stairs. I hope that i can do this she said. I havent ever really been open and talked about my problems with anyone before.

She is now standing in front of Magda's door. She knocks.

Maybe he does have a good explination for it. But could there be? Why would he do that?, Jinny says out loud in her car.

She is almost at the parking lot in front of her appartment building. Jinny gets out of the car and walks up one flight of stairs then to the elevator down the hall. She went up to her floor. Now she was standing if front of of her appartment door. She opens the door slowly and nervously. She scanned the Kitchen for him. Hmmm, she said. He wasnt in there. She glanced in the bathroom. Wasnt there either. Then she looked in the living room as she walked through to the bedroom. He wasnt in the living room...nor the bedroom. Jinny said. I wonder where he is? She was kinda sad now. She threw herself on the bed.
Well...she said. I guess ill just leave and come back later. Yea ill just take a drive.
She got up grabbed her coat and left.

After thinking about this Jinny was getting really sad and depressed.
She was now coming to where else but the Anchorside Bar.
I'll just go in and have ONE drink. No more, she said to herself.
She parked her car in front and walked in. She went over and sat down at the bar. Yea, give me a scotch straight up, double. She said to the bar tender. She took a glance around the room. Something caught her eye. Actually it was someone. He was sitting over in the corner. It was Teddy. I wonder why he is here, she said to herself. He doesnt like to come in here much. The bar tender sat down her drink in front of her. Jinny got her drink and walked over to where Teddy was. Teddy still hadnt noticed that she had come in.
Teddy, Jinny said.
Teddy glanced up at her.
Jinny sat down on the other side of the booth that he was sitting in.
Ummm. Teddy do you want to go out and talk?
Teddy said, Yea i guess.
Jinny had just noticed that Teddy had about 2 glasses of drinks sitting there that he had finished. Jinny thought he must be taking it hard too becuz Teddy never had more than one glass.
They both got up and went out and got into her car.

Gosh, he makes me sooo mad sometimes.
Jinny looks at her watch and notices it was 7:30PM and she knew she wouldnt get back at Magda's til later. So she pulled over at a pay phone and called to tell her.
The phone was next to the AnchorSide Bar.

She had decided that it wouldnt hurt to go in and have a drink. She got out of the car and walked in.
Yea one scotch straight up. And make that a double, she said to the bar tender.
She sat there and thought to herself about the whole situation. She began to get depressed cuz she loved him so much and didnt want to loose him.
Here, said the bar tender as he sat down her drink.
Jinny felt so bad that she told him to get out of the car like that. She was now sad and depressed cuz she was loosing him, the one man that she had ever truely loved and trusted, and becuz of the way that she had acted toward him.
Hey, could i have another?, she asked.
Yea. here ya go, said the bar tender.
Jinny had another drink.
Soon she thought I've had 3 or was it 4 drinks? She couldnt quite remember. Maybe it was more than that. She couldnt remember. She got up from her seat and wobled out the door and onto the sidewalk. She couldnt even remember that she had drove her car. She made her way down the street.

Teddy thought to himself. Why did i do that. I didnt realize that I hurt her that much; until i saw her in her car....she looked so..so...
He didnt know how do describe it. Its almost like i didnt think that it would hurt her, he thought. Jinny has feelings just like everyone else she just doesnt come right out and show them, he thought.
Then he said aloud, I think ill take a walk.
So he got up and grabbed his coat cuz it had been and unusual chilly and dreary day. And made his way out the door.

Teddy was walking on the sidewalk with his head down. He looked up for only a moment and saw Jinny walking toward him. He knew she was drunk. He ran to her.
Teddy: Jinny, you're drunk.
Jinny: Hey ill be fine just leave me alone.
Jinny tries to jerk away from Teddy but he pulls her back.
Teddy: C'mon Jinny.
He didnt know how he was going to get her home. So he just kept walking, holding to her. As they got around the corner he thought he saw her car. Has they got closer he realized that it was hers.
Teddy: Oh, good. We would never had made it home. Jinny where is the keys.
Jinny: Aaaa, right here.
She reached into her coat pocket and pulled out the keys. Teddy put Jinny in the passenger seat and buckled her up. He went around to the other side of the car, and got in.
