South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker have paid tribute to the late Isaac Hayes - by posting a message on the show's website.

The soul legend voiced the character of Chef in the cartoon from 1998, before he was written out of the script in 2006. Hayes parted ways with the comedy duo after he objected to an episode ridiculing the controversial Scientology religion, of which the singer was a follower. Their split resulted in Chef being brutally killed off in the cartoon.

However, following Hayes' death on Sunday, Stone and Parker have posted a simple 'in memoriam' tribute on website southparkstudios.com.

Did Parker and Stone forgive Hayes after the episode that made him leave?

I've always hated Southpark and that's ridiculous to have the character brutally killed off just because the portrayer objected to something that was personal to him. It seems to me that the brutality of the killing was only in response to this, and had they parted on good terms it might have been toned down.

In all fairness, I never saw the episode that I'm talking about (and perhaps I don't know what I'm talking about), but this just sounds like something "Southpark" would do.

Hey You:) :D

I love Southpark...its my fave along with family Guy...and I agree with Matt and Trey and how they reacted to Isaac Hayes....Isaac Hayes had no problem reaping the enormus rewards of making fun of everyone else on SP for many many years and many many MILLIONS OF DOLLARS....Fine he was upset when they did that to his religion and wanted to leave great...but if he really feels that way he shouldnt have recieved pay for those episodes or he should have donated it to Scientology...this makes me sick that Matt and Trey Even said anything on the website after being slapped in the face by someone they thought was a co-worker and friend....If It was me I wouldnt have said anything at all....I have seen all the SouthPark Episodes and Own the Dvds with the Extras...and I Loved what happened to Chef...Total Hoot and a Half...:) :D

Isaac Hayes (voice of Chef) didn’t quit South Park willingly. In 2006, he had a stroke and lost the ability to speak and someone involved in Scientology quit on his behalf. (https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/features/south-park-20-years-history-trey-parker-matt-stone-928212)
