That's the good news. The bad news is this is CBS DVD we're talking about, which worries me, as they don't do a very good job with classic shows. They are known for edited episodes and changing any music that costs, well, anything. Well at least they can't plaster any Paramount logos, as PJ didn't have any. Just the Filmways one...uh-oh...

Well, I am for one am excited......as we aren't gonna get PJ any other way. I have the Ultimate Collection from MPI, but I would love to see the complete first season since these episodes were never syndicated. I know for sure that the sponsor logos and such will most likely be digitally edited/covered.

Finally, I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the 1st season. I'd also like to see season 2. Petticoat was such a good show.

I hope it's the whole 1st season and if it's is, I hope that they would do the other 6 seasons of the show too.

And the cover art looks great-it's called "The Official First Season" (as if they is some kind of slur towards MPI's release).
Now, if Paramount/CBS was to next announce The Lucy Show: The Official First Season, "I would die, I'd absolutely die!" (think Lucie Arnaz' overacting Cynthia in the first season).

I'm glad they're finally releasing an official season set. I'll definitely be getting this one. I've never seen any of the b&w episodes of Petticoat Junction.

I dont think its a slur to MPI's release at all...I think they want people to know thats its an official version as opposed to the ones that were being sold illegally in the past.
I think that LInda Henning did the MPI one so that we would have something at that time. She did all that she could do so that we could have PJ in our homes. There is a lot of legal stuff involved here and its not just the episodes. The Henning estate has the rights to the music but not the episodes. So in order to do an official copy, one would have to have all the rights to do so.
OH Nuts!

I hope they do them all.
Me too!!!!

I had to laugh when I saw the cover art where it says The OFFICIAL First Season. Be prepared for some cuts/changes to the episodes, they will probably change all the music like they did with My Three Sons. The only rural sitcom I really like is Green Acres, so Petticoat Junction isn't on my list to buy anyway regardless of what CBS DVD does to the episodes.

Well a poster at HTH, stated he didn't notice any music changes to the Beverly Hillbillies set, so that may be good news for PJ fans. And more extras--both Linda and Pat Woodell are doing intros for all 38 episodes, plus new interviews with them as well.
