View Full Version : Does eating while driving, or walking take the enjoyment away from the meal?
TVFactFan 08-12-2008, 11:54 AM Do you have to be sitting down in one spot to enjoy your food so you can focus on it? I have to be stationery when I'm eating, no way can I walk down the street or drive when trying to eat something.
Anyone else unable to enjoy food while in motion?
Max Whittaker 08-12-2008, 12:34 PM Sounds like a good way to get into an accident. Particularly if you are Really into the meal! ;)

Someone said on the radio it's ok to eat FRIES while driving-lol
Brieannas21 08-12-2008, 12:43 PM I eat while driving a lot mainly because sometimes I'm trying to get to a meeting or something, like last week when I had a busy work week. But it was only subs so it wasn't like it was a five course meal and I was trying to savor the flavors  I was just trying to get rid of my hunger pangs.
Janice 08-12-2008, 12:44 PM I with you on this one Solomon. I like to concentrate on my food. I won't eat in a car, even as a passenger. Walking down the street eating seems strange to me. Find a bench or something, lol. Off topic, but I can't wear my glasses when I'm eating. I wear glasses when I'm on the computer, reading, and even cooking. I don't know why, but I can't stand to see food clearly. I know, weird.

Yes a Sub, it's not hard to eat and drive.

You are going to mess around and get Acid Reflux-lol

I already have it, I got it when I was pregnant.

Oh ok, well too late for that. I got it from eating large meals and laying down.
Brieannas21 08-12-2008, 01:11 PM Oh ok, well too late for that. I got it from eating large meals and laying down.
I got it from a baby being right under my lungs and pressing on my stomach LOL. But when I eat certain foods it happens no matter what I do. I can be sitting up and the acid will rise. So now it's something that I have to live with.
BarneyFife 08-12-2008, 01:17 PM I eat finger foods while driving but nothing that involves using a spoon or fork.
I enjoy my food no matter where or how i eat it.
sunshinefizzy 08-12-2008, 02:44 PM I don't drive but even when I'm in the passenger seat and get fast food, I hate it because I either make a mess and there is no room to eat ketchup with my french fries.
Brian Damage 08-12-2008, 03:32 PM I am the same way Solomon, I have got to eat my food at a dinner table or tv tray. Driving just doesn't cut it.
The Great One 08-12-2008, 04:27 PM I prefer to eat my food at the dinner table. I can enjoy it more that way.
I don't eat while walking or driving(I don't drive), but I do eat while at the
computer or watching television.
Stormtracker TF 08-12-2008, 05:11 PM I don't eat while I'm driving, it's too distracting to me. I don't even like eating in the car period, but I've done it a few times.
InspectorExstead 08-12-2008, 10:51 PM yep, it definitely takes away from enjoying the meal. i don't like eating in the car because it can get messy, unless it's a quick snack bar & i don't have time to eat it elsewhere. but i cannot drive & eat...way too complicated for me. lol. unless someone's in the car with me & is helping me. but it just tastes better when you sit down & can enjoy & concentrate on your food & not have to worry about getting into an accident. and i can't understand why some like to eat & walk at the same time. unless it's a small snack & you're walking around your house, seems strange.
ThomasE 08-20-2008, 10:58 PM If I can, I would sit and eat. Trying to drive and eat for me is not enjoyable at all. I want to savour the food.
OH Nuts! 08-21-2008, 12:15 AM Absolutely. Ever since my Dr. told me I had to watch what I eat, I take time to enjoy a meal as often as I can. And I always make sure my hot food is hot, that waY I find I eat less of it.
Schmoopie 08-21-2008, 01:57 AM I used to eat in my car all the time but since I got my current car (a 2002 Toyota Echo), I stopped. My car still looks brand-new!
