Harpin' At Julia Harper

Starring Leslie Mann as Julia Harper, a newly-married Chicago Times columnist who is coming to terms with her new marriage, her estranged relationships with her stepdaughter and mother-in-law, and rapidly facing her 40th birthday as her biological clock loudly ticks away. Julia and her hunky, loving architect husband, Mark Harper (Colin Ferguson) got married after only six months of dating and coming to realize their love for each other. Julia and Mark live with Mark's once-illegimate, now 18-year-old daughter, Olivia (Emma Stone) who is described as rebellious, promscious, and a drama queen by everyone that knows her. Olivia has not made any effort to get to know or even tolerate Julia, let alone accept her new marriage to her dad. Julia also fails to meet the acceptance from Mark's long time widowed mother, Grace (Shirley Knight) who still is in close contact and good standings with Mark's ex-girlfriend and Olivia's mother, Sarah (Julia Campbell)--much to Mark's dismay. However, Julia's younger sister, Jess Kilner (Candace Cameron Bure) and her charming husband, Michael Kilner (Paul Rudd) accept Mark and Julia's marriage and couldn't be more happy for the couple, as well as Michael and Jess's two adorable, cute-as-pie daughters: Allison and Madison (Maude and Iris Apatow). Julia and Jess have always been close-knit, Julia and Michael grew up together and Julia was the matchmaker who paired up Jess and Michael ten years ago. Julia adores her nieces (and goddaughters) and vice versa, which makes Julia long for a child of her own (besides two loving nieces and a reluctant stepdaughter).
