Hamlet 2 (http://www.movietrailerlive.com/ct_0005_Hamlet2) is shock comedy. Don't fall for it. There's actually a song in the soundtrack entitled 'Raped in the Face' and I'm told that Steve Coogan sings this merry ballad while pointing at his own face. Is that funny?

I think at one time this movie script could have been a socially important story that challenges modern spirituality and high school funding cuts. In this tale, Steve Coogan is Dana Marschz, a drama teacher who mounts an epic theater production in Tucson Arizona's West Mesa High School. He writes and produces his own original material in a desperate bid to save the under-funded drama program. That could be funny all by itself. Did it really need Rock Me Sexy Jesus?

The story gets more and more unrealistic as an ethnically diverse student body stages the ultimate high school theater production and reinvents Jesus Christ as a sexy rocker!

Written by Pam Brady (South Park credits) and Andrew Fleming, and directed by Fleming, Hamlet 2 (http://www.movietrailerlive.com/ct_0005_Hamlet2) stars Steve Coogan, Catherine Keener, David Arquette, Amy Poehler, and Elizabeth Shue.

Basing my opinion on the preview I seen, I'd say it doesn't look very good. I'll be skipping this one.

you have south park's pam brady co writing. it's bound to cross some ethical and moral borders...

that being said, steve coogan has had to water down his act quite a bit to cater to american audiences. i have faith it'll be good.

Steve Coogan is hilarious; I assume most here haven't seen I'm Alan Partridge , and if Hamlet 2 just isn't your thing then so be it, but it is a touching love story and if you don't fall in love with it you must be a heartless SOB that wouldn't know true art if it walked up and crapped in your pants and you should go back to watching Monkey Tennis...
