View Full Version : Anyone else ever find DVD's at a garage sale?
JulieSomoski 08-09-2008, 10:10 PM I just went to a garage sale around my house today, and I guess the woman was selling all her old DVD's, so I got an amazing deal - she had all 11 seasons of Frasier on DVD priced at $80, and this was to me an oustanding price. I was going to buy the DVD's now for some time, but I just never got around to doing it. When I saw all 11 DVD's for sale, I didn't hesitate to hand over the money immediately. She said she only used them once or twice, and they were practically brand new. I don't think I could beat a price like that!

Thanks! The woman just said she was looking to clear room in her bedroom, and she was looking to get rid of them. Some people are just wanting of money I guess - I may now go to many more garage sales in the near future, just to see what may be out there.

The best thing to do is GET THERE ON THE FIRST DAY WHEN THEY OPEN. Most of the good stuff goes quick.

That's so true! What a great deal on DVD's! I never thought to check garage sales, but I may have to start!

The Great One 08-19-2008, 02:49 PM When I go to garage sales I always find someone selling DVDs that I'm looking for that are in brand new condition for a very good price. :)
ryan423 08-19-2008, 02:50 PM I would kill to pay only 80$ for Fraiser. The show ran 11 years! You got it for the price of 2 sets at Best Buy!

Yeah, and it's so coincidental, because I was thinking about buying the Frasier sets a few at a time for awhile, but never got around to doing it. It really was a good deal - the woman who sold them to me could have got double the money considering the condition they were in.
BarneyFife 08-19-2008, 03:18 PM Another thing when going to a garage/yard sale. Ask the seller if they could come down on the price a little. After all they're trying to make some extra money and clear out some clutter in the house. Some will be set on the price, but you'll be surprised how many will come down. Even if it's just a few dollars, every little bit helps.
Zoneboy 08-19-2008, 03:32 PM I went to a yard sale a few months ago and got there about noon. They had just marked everything that was left half price & I got seasons 1 & 2 of Arrested Development for $7 each. Technically though, I got them for nothing because I paid $5 for a subwoofer that I sold on eBay for $90.
