I heard this back in 1988. Even a stand up comics used it in her material. I also read somewhere that Bea would get very upset at Betty for messing up lines and they would have to do re-takes.

It was on one of the bonus features on one of the dvds....but i also read it somewhere else.

I don't think it was ever true! I mean come on.. they were on the show for SEVEN whole years acting and working together. I think if Bea Arthur disliked Betty White, she would have left the series a long time ago.
