is probably my favorite movie all time! And it's hard for me to make a top 10 considering all the movies I love! Anyway, does anybody else like this movie (and as much as I do)? Discuss the movie.

Did anybody know this was DeNiro's directorial debut? He co directed it, did pretty good in my mind, on top of his superior acting in the film and in general.

I absolutely love A Bronx Tale. DeNiro was incredible, but what else is new there. I was glad to see Chazz Palminteri get the opportunity to showcase his talent, as I think he's underrated. I can imagine Chazz and DeNiro playing each other's roles. It was great seeing DeNiro play a good guy. I think the actor who played the son got in big trouble, and may be in prison. I'm not sure on that one.

Off the top of my head, here are my favorite mob type movies.

Goodfellas
Donnie Brasco
Casino
The Godfather 1 & 2
The Departed
Scarface

Yeah I totally agree with you on that, espec. about Chazz and DeNiro, DeNiro is my fav. actor too! At least one of them. And yeah I heard about that too, didn't he murder somebody or something? I don't remember the exact crime, but when I read it, I remember being shocked at what he did. Yeah I love all those movies you mentioned too. ABT I think is just a great movie, not just a great mob movie, it has an unbelievable plot and just the whole setting and movie really moves me. The soundtrack is awesome too!

Taral Hicks who was the black girl that Robert's son liked is hot. She's done several straight to video movies i've seen. A Bronx Tale is real good.

One of my favorite movies of all time. Of the few DVDs I actually own, 'A Bronx Tale' is one of them. Great quotes (our family still talks about them), "now yuse can't leave!", plus the 'car door' test, some of Sonny's philosophies, etc. Definitely a 'keeper'. The music too, starts out with doo-wop--goes to sixties music, as "C" gets older.

Definitely. I loved the doo-wop music from back then, the classical/jazz music was great as well...a wonderful blend

Isn't this the film that had that young actor who was involved in that cop killing incident in New York; I think his name is Lilo Brancato?

I heard that DeNiro wants nothing to do with him now when he is released. He said he was a great, upcoming actor back then.

*As far as the movie, yes this one is one of my favorites.

yes you are correct- that was him. I wonder if it was the adolescent cordual, or however you spell his name, or the older actor that played him, that killed the cop? Both are older now sothe young kid would be in his 20s-30s by now. You know what I mean?

The shooter of the officer was Steven Armento who is not involved in the movie business. He got life without parole.

According to the felony murder law Brancato should have been convicted of murder also but the jury did not see it that way. They only charged him with burglary and setenced him to 10 years; he is due for release in January 2019.

Needless to say the city and the NYPD were outraged at the jury's decision with this.

This is one of my favorite Robert DeNiro movies ever! It was a made for cable movie and it was good. A own the movie on DVD, I went looking for it at Circuit City (when they were still in business) they didn't carry it, so I bought it off Amazon. My favorite scene is when the bikers come into the bar disrepecting the italians and they end up getting a beat down! A true 5 star move.

Yeah GK, it's no longer in print and hasn't been for awhile, which means you wouldn't find it at any store. The only place you can buy it is online- Amazon, ebay etc. like you said. I got mine off of Ebay about 3 years ago, and I love the movie (I bought it as a DVD of course). Did you know it was Deniro's directorial debut as a director as well? Yeah that scene is great, Sonny locks the doors "nows yous can't leave" LOL . Classic.

Actually, I didn't know that was his directorial debut. People are so good in front of the camera, we tend to overlok what they do behind the camera.

yeah man- deniro is a genius as well. I love his movies; he's probably my favorite actor, if not one of them most definitely. He's the king of the mob movies alongside Joe Peschi & Al Pacino.
